Hi Mike,
I'm after a bit of help please:-
Out of the Dell deals you listed today which would you say is the best value for money between the E521, E520 and the 9200? Not for gaming, just everyday use. Are they all easily upgradeable and do you recommend any upgrades when I purchase?
Thanks :)

Just one tip dino...Vista loaded PCs will be out soon so if you're not desperate it may be prudent to await their arrival..is it at the end of January or February....Mike will know.

Thanks currychops, this is a 'gift' so I would like it ASAP, also my local computer shop guy told me there are big Vista problems and it won't be released until August. He said that he's a Microsoft trial engineer, whatever that means.

will pc's and laptops with vista installed on them already be more expensive?

I'd go for this one as a good all round deal http://www.hotukdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39403
D01E07a at £489 will give you the cheap path to Vista Premium too.

Upgrades are not must have's.

If you want a better monitor, Dell™ 19" UltraSharp™ Digital/Analogue Flat Panel (1907FP) - UK/Irish add £41.13

The memory upgrade is cheap for dell and only just above crucial price.
2048MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [2x1024] Memory add £94.00
Good for when Vista appears.

As to Vista causing prices to rise, this may well happen as Dell like others must be feeling the pinch from customers waiting rather than buying now with XP, so they are reducing prices to make sales.
Some kit just wont run vista so low price laptops etc will have to be phased out like the Inspiron 1300. More bread and butter kit gone.
MS are saying 2gig ram for Vista so kit will cost more if thats true, plus customers may just pay a premium to get a Vista equiped PC, like it or not.
Word is that component prices are set to rise in the first quarter this year so that too may increase prices.

Prices will probably increase from current levels for a while when Vista is introduced.
