Mobile Broadband Options

I am starting to look into a mobile broadband solution for business.

I know that most mobile providers offer various usb modem broadband packages so it's just down to speed, overage and the all important price.

I need to know that whatever package i go for it must have decent coverage within the Weymouth / Portland area - this is only required for a few weeks per each but essential so I can still work online with my clients.

3gb should be plenty, ideally i'd like a 12 months contract but 18 months if not.

The diveice must also be Vista compatible.

So, i'm looking for advice and recommendations from anyone currently using a mobile broadband solution, and some comments regarding coverage, price, support etc.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

hi steve, i have just got 3's mobile broadband. i had it from 02 at first but it was useless really, losing the signal all the time when my phone had full signal.
3 is working fine so far, always stays connected and signal has been good. I am in cornwall and when the reception was checked instore using my postcode the signal came back good.
I've got the 3gb a month on an 18 month contract and that was with the free dongle. it should be £15 a month but is half price if you have a 3 mobile contract. hope this helps. Stuart

Hi Stuart,

Many thanks for your advice, i'll look into the 3 package (although I do not have a mobile contract with them so won't be able to get the 1/2 price deal), and thanks for the advice about O2 not being so good.

If anyone is using T-Mobile or Vodafone mobile broadband I would be interested in any comments on coverage and service etc.

Thanks,

Steve

Half price 3GB plan from 3 network through Quidco (£13).
£ 7.50 per month with free modem. 18 month contract.
Got it for work and so far have been pleased with it in areas where mobile signal is usually quite poor. Was easy to set up out of the box and was online in minutes.
Offer expires today though (30th June).

Forgot to add that it works with Vista. - tried both home basic and business editions.

There's alway BT Togo

Basicaly you get normal home internet but they also give you a smart phone which uses wifi to connect to the internet which is free in a fon spot or you get 500 minutes in an openzone per month

When you can't get a wireless signal it uses the vodafone network in the same way as the USB dongles do

It's got windows mobile on it so can easily connect to a Vista laptop / Computer to share the internet conection.

You would have to look into it a bit more but its another opton for you
