Got one of these for my grandmother. Absolutely superb and so easy to use. Very loud too! Reads out the numbers as you type them in :)

As above Doro.Has a single button emergency and a torch.

Father in law struggled with his big button phone. I think the OwnFone mobile is far better but not as cheap. You need to decide which is best. Take a look http://www.ownfone.com/

Doro is the one you want

I have been through this process for years and initially started with Doro phones. They have their benefits but some have major flaws also. If at all possible put some phones in their hands and see what they say. Cost me a lot finding something that worked and believe it or not a small cheap smartphone (with easy big button/tab launcher) worked out better than any Doro I tried. Few apps increasing keyboard size etc adapted it to a better Doro type than Doro. I have a few Doro phones lying around at home in a drawer.

What about a Binatone Brick?

I have one as a backup.

If it isn't too big, they are a great basic phone.

Easy to hold. Proper buttons, REALLY loud ring, and they last forever on standby....up to a month.

Only 2g though.

Really cheap.
