Thinking of a Lenovo ZUK Z2. I know the storage speed (eMMC) is lower than other flagships (not too keen to get those in the late product cycle). Though the price is great. Would going up to Snapdragon 820 be a noticeable upgrade?

moto E is only 1GB Ram & 8GB internal
a modern phone needs a least 2GB Ram to run apps properly and 16GB storage

forget about the processor its memory you need

yes it would be a very noticeable upgrade

yes it's going from budget processor to a 2016 flagship processor.

as said above, it's only a third of the story as internal storage and ram make a huge difference.

with that processor I doubt you'd see less than 16gb and 2gb. the more the better but as a package a BG upgrade.

Good to know.

For a fast phone - do you guys reckon new years sale will be worth waiting for? Waited a bit for the xmas sales - haven't seen many mobile phone deals of interest (Voda did really good black Friday sales on top tier phones years before - though not much this year).

If you want a solid, reliable phone, I'd stay away from things like the Zuk. There are other, lower spec phones that will provide you with a more reliable experience in the long run. You won't have to mess around flashing ROMs and overcoming other software issues either.
