Monitor Help?

So i bought a LG D2343 3D Monitor from Argos about 6 months ago! It's been great, however.....

I've have been fixing a computer lately, using the monitor's VGA output and for some reason it has started to play up when I connect my Computer! My computer is connected by HDMI to DVI-D, when I turn my computer, once booted into windows the screen will display, I don't see any of the boot sequence, but windows will discover the monitor as a non-generic pnp monitor, and be at a very low resolution.

To double check the situation I plugged my PS4 into the monitor via HDMI it will only display on the monitor at 480p the other options are greyed out!

I read the EDID could be corrupt but I seriously have no idea what to do? Can someone please help me with what I need to do?

If it were me I would take it back to Argos.

30 day guarantee when I bought it :/ surely it would come under warranty?

Whats the best option ringing or going in? I haven't got the receipt but have printed the back statement from the date and the box has the argos catalogue number on so they know its from them!

30 day guarantee. Are you sure?

Bank/credit card statement is fine, just pop into your local shop and take it with you, your contract is with Argos and nobody else so they have to deal with you by law in the first twelve months.

Argos are quite good at returns anyway so you should not have any issue unless you get a junked up manager.

Only Problem is I've just checked there website looks like the new catalogue/range has just come out and my monitor is no longer listed :( I've been on google and its cached so I've took a print screen of that! What will they do? What is my best option?

Take it back for repair, they will look into it. The thing is, companies do not have to give a direct replacement, they can offer a repair or if that fails they can offer a pro rota refund depending on the length of time you have had the product.

As you have had it for 6 months they may take this into consideration if a repair is not an option.

I have no idea what option they will take. Once upon a time they would swap it like for like or for a newer model but people started taking the p*** so they have become a bit more strict. However, they are still very good so just take the monitor back to the store along with the statement and explain your situation.

Just do not let them fob you off as your contract is with them, so they have to take it in for repair, replace or give a pro rota refund.

Thank you for your help! I will probably have a chance on Saturday to go in and have this sorted! Can't believe it decided to go, I checked my statement and I purchased it in April so its actually only 3 months!!!!!

Not good at all LG :( I hope they say well, we will see if we have any which haven't been recalled, if they don't do that I would want them to say I can pick another monitor at £160 or less! Already had a look and there's a 40" TV Full HD for £199.99 which would do nicely!

But I will keep you up to date!

Lastly, should I ring before I go in or should I just go for it on Saturday? Don't want to have to go back another day after going in would like them to do some work while I'm at work haha!!
