depends on personal taste really (and or money sense)

the apple ipod shuffle 5th gen can be got from £40 (currys silver / white ver anyways) witch is 2gb and has good reviews

personally, i would rather get the alba (argos on brand) 4gb for £9,99 tho also good reviews and double the storage space for a lot less money

Sandisk clip and Jam are good. Fairly cheap, decent battery life, built in storage and expandable storage.

I'm after one as well I bought that alba for £10 its waste of money
The battery sometimes charge sometimes doesn't
With aux cable it's very low on volume in car and lot of noise

I use a old Samsung s3 mobile with no sim card In it. Far more convenient than my Sansa zip clip which is what I would recommend. Think price has gone up because they no longer make them but some folk think they are great. I do to but phone is better.

+1 for the clip+, which takes microSD cards as well as having 4GB internally.

Formatted correctly (ie NOT using the M$ formatter), you can get a HUGE card to run on these, although there are probably limits on the number of files it can detect and play, I havent found them yet.

Another vote for the Sansa Clip. Flash Rockbox on it (check online for guide, it's easy enough) to really open up its potential.

Got one of these, not that good. I would buy the Sandisk, brilliant player.

O really what's not so good about it? And what SanDisk player is the best to go for?

At that price point I'd have a look at the Fiio M3.

Not overly great reviews

The Sansa clip zip seems unavailable unless you import and even then it's doubled in price. I did here that on a tech podcast as Americans were buying up stock. Seems Sansa makes a sport version that looks on paper to be the same, but player is a little more rounded. If it is the same then well work buying. Has a good sound and small enough to clip inside a cap which is where I put mine. The only problem to watch is the location you set it to as that puts volume restrictions on device. Think it EU thing. Well documented and easy to change. It's dose have a really good sound and plenty loud enough. I'm hanging on to mine. Found this sport version as nearly the same as Sansa clip zip http://www.picstop.co.uk/mp3-players/cCH9509161202.html?gclid=Cj0KEQiA4JnCBRDQ5be3nKCPhpwBEiQAjwN1bskPIt07NL-PXnjwhh6X2DQV0d6xkheco2aTaj048_kaAibl8P8HAQ
