I want to add a networked drive but also want to use it as a USB drive, I have found this...

Are there any alternatives? cheap enclosures that I could stick my own drive in?

The DriveStation™ 2Share is the perfect Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution for the home and office environment. Combining an external USB drive and a NAS solution, the DriveStation™ 2Share can easily and automatically back-up personal files, digital images, videos, music and other digital content. Complete with many great features, including auto installation, TurboUSB software, Memeo back-up software and Secure Lock Ware, the DriveStation™ 2Share offers the ultimate in storage versatility. For the first time users can simply and quickly toggle between the high speed capabilities of a USB 2.0 interface and the convenience of centralised storage with the push of a button. Whilst connected to your PC it will automatically turn on once you power your PC! In addition, the fanless design allows the DriveStation 2Share to operate silently while the heat sink chassis keeps the internal components cool during operation. The ease of installation makes the DriveStation 2Share a true plug and play Storage solution for all!
Either buy the DNS-313, or buy the buffalo wzr- 300NH router and a usb drive to go along with it.

DNS-313 = ntfs formatted drive.

Router+USB = xfs formatted drive for large files.

I have both setups.
both expensive solutions and the dns-313 has some patchy reviews.
