Hi
TomTom 5 is ideal
with european maps you need 200meg free on an sd card
and a bluetooth GPS reciever.
it makes no difference what sim card is inside.
you can find both of these on ebay

I've got a 1gb SD card so that should be ok.

But I've no idea what a bluetooth GPS reciever might be... like this maybe?
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/8590.htm What might it do?

Thanks, I'm new to all this.

AFAIK, those receivers based in SirfStar III chipset are the best ones on market.
Such as this one.

Another vote for Tomtom 5. Currently running off my iPaq HX4700 and I'm using this GPS receiver from Ledtek (LR9537http://www.leadtek.com.tw/eng/images/dot.gif).

Bought mine from far east seller on ebay for less than £50 inclusive P+P.

Many thanks schizoboy; that makes sense.

Going to have a snoop around the sites suggested and see where I get to.
