Hello, I would be very grateful if someone could recommend me any good deals on a laptop. my budget is around £250, I need a decent spec, i dont expect it to be top notch for this price. if you have any knowledge of a good deal for this price, i would be thankful to hear from you! :-D

cheers

Currys are doing a similar deal to the one advertised in PC World (well they would, as they are the same group) where you can get a PC for £300. Instead Currys are doing £300 off any PC, added to your budget this would give you a £550 PC.

The drawbacks are that:
1. You have to sign up to Orange Broadband for 2 years (£14.99pm), (and they are the worst provider I have ever had the misfortune to be lumped with, bring back Wanadoo)
2. Your are limited to Currys only PC's at their inflated prices
3. You only get a 2mb connection for that
4. Its not a wireless connection (although you can upgrade for £19.99pm)

However the bonus is you get a reasonable spec PC for your budget

Decent spec + £250 for a laptop is wishful thinking IMHO.

The refurb things that were about for £280 are next best thing.

The Orange and AOL offers are poor from mypoint of video, but thats because I pay £5/m for Orange Unlimited because of my 16month free rental 18month contract Orange mobile which subsidises the Orange Broadband.

what about £300? do you think im best off looking on ebay?

300 would be either a dell vostro 1000 or:

There are various £300-£340 laptops about on HUKD.

What I quickly did on the dell website:

Under £400 though the refurb/one offs from DSG and others which HUKD tends to find are better imo

Over £400 I'm quite Dell bias'd due to all the deals they do and if you are patient to wait until Thurday and MikeT to do his magic on HUKD.

£60 delivery :?

Order with that one scott, the deliverys added on that one, better spec and its around £350, remember to use base warrenty [lower the warrenty from 3yrs]

Standard on Dell I'm afraid, and is really a custom build + packaging + delivery cost.

Are you not tempted by the various sub £350 laptops on HUKD?
