Need a new Vacuum Cleaner - Please Recommend

Really need a new Vacuum Cleaner and after years of Dysons have decided its time for a change.

Am on my third Dyson in 8 years and am getting dissollusioned with them, my latest doesn't seem to pick anything up any more and I am forever unblocking the thing.

We have 3 cats so will need one with really good suction to pick up their hair.

Anyone recommend a good one - about the £150 -£250 price bracket. Thanks

We have the bissell lift off which is amazing. The downside is you really have to keep the filters clean to have it tip top but everytime I've replaced them it's been like new. It's so powerful when you turn it on it'll set off across the room without you if you don't hold on!

We had a Dyson for the last 8 years, then the motor burnt out a couple of weeks ago. We decided to go for VAX Model: VZL-6017P Mach 7 Pets & Stairs cos it was half price at Currys at the time (around £122) which we felt was a bargain. It works superbly, actually better than the Dyson. All VAX vacuum cleaners apparently come with a free 6 year warranty, and if anything should go wrong in those first 6 years they will arrange to collect it, repair it, if it cant be fixed they will replace it for a new one. Cant be bad.

I have a cat and my brother (a contract cleaning compay owner) told me to get a Henry. Swear by it, gave my Dyson away.

Without doubt a Miele. Had all sorts before and avoided Miele cos they're expensive but managed to get hold of one in a sale for about £100. Had my doubts but I swear nothing else holds a candle to it. And they're designed to last 20 years! Lots of little things on it that some boffin has had a good think about which make your life easier. Only drawback is the bags are expensive but if you use the substitutes, available in the likes of Tesco, ASDA etc, you're away! Good luck!

Sorry, didn't think to search, was just so mad at another blockage in my Dyson that I decided enough was enough and was going to get a new hoover.
