I think halfords do fixed price servicing, remember using them years ago for a mondeo and seemed pretty good, definately a lot cheaper than main dealer.

I used Servicing Stop for the first time last November, they were good value, and collected my car, serviced and valetted it, and delivered it back to me. I also had the wifes car done a week later
You can email them and they then phone you back within minutes to confirm the details

Thanks for your replies guys, I remember that I read horrible views about kwikfit on the internet forums. Are you sure it is a good idea to go to them, because what i have read about them is they come up with huge bills

Rep added for both replies thanks once again

I can only go by my experience and those of friends who have used my local Kwik Fit, they are excellent!

Might be worth posting make model age and area you live in. Also whether you need to use a VAT registered garage to keep a warranty if you have a wattenty that is?

Quick Fits and the like vary from area to area just like main dealers, it's just your luck. Better off with a local recommendation.

If still in warranty you would also have to make sure that approved parts etc were used, I've heard that Nationwide do services to manufacturers warranty spec' but you would need to double check that.

ya, it is a honda jazz CVT 1.4, 2004 model. Wakefield area, car is out of warranty now.:)

I'd recommed checking out the Honda Owners Club Try http://www.clubjazz.org/ put a post on there to find a Honda specialist in your area rather than a main dealer, usually better and cheaper this way.
No warranty - you could do an intrim service yourself for about £25-£30 with quality oil. It's only oil and filter with a light and levels check and tyre pressures. You'll get advice on the forum

Ask around locally amongst friends/family. The cheapest are usually the mobile servicers and some of them can be quite good.

Avoid the national companies that do loads of advertising (e.g. Kwikfit, Nationwide Autocentre). Their "cheap" servicing offers are to sucker you in to be told that your car is a potential deathtrap and needs £100s to make it safe. And the likelihood is that the brakes will be replaced by someone they sent on a 2 hour course on brake servicing. If you're lucky, you car might be the second one he's been let loose on.

Please don't go to kwik fit, I've never had a service done there but had a spare tyre needed changing and the idiot that done it unloosened the undercarrage tyre carrier with a windy gun chipping hell out of the boot paintwork. Kicked up a stink to the manager who agreed to change all the tyres for free.
