where exactly do you expect someone to pluck these out from if you bought it on the net ?

the reciept numbers for online are completley different to store ones, which are 6 digits, and branch numbers dont exist for online purchases.

What you need to do is to get the manager of your local Currys to agree to do it for you. They dont have to as its advertised as an instore offer only so try and be polite.

I managed to get them to do it for me the other day luckily, phoning your local branch before you go is the best way to start.

I found this very helpful from a member on avf, you posted there too but havent actually searched for an answer but anyway try this with them:

Let me clear this issue for you or anyone in the same situation.

Regarding Currys ONLY -
If you have recently bought a new tv online the offer of £149 SHOULD still be valid.
Bring the online emailed tv receipt to your local CURRYS.
If you are an existing customer take your sky customer number, if you have multiroom already the installation is free, if not is £60
(The HD subscription will cost an extra £10 per month)
A debit or credit card and a BIG polite smile.
Tell the assistant that you have bought your tv online and was advised by SKY to go to your local branch to get the £149 HD box deal.

This is how it should work, but it is not 100% guaranteed
The nice man/lady from CURRYS will phone SKY ( be prepared to hang about a few minutes), and ask for the deal and take £30 from you, debit or credit card are preferred.
Soon after you will be talking to the sky assistant, you will give your details and specify your requirements, if already on sky you will be asked to pay £119 with your credit/debit card there and then, +£60 if you haven't got a multiroom subscription already, if you are not a sky customer you will also need to specify the package of your choice.
(Check out sky.com HD for the packages.)
The SKY assistant will then set a date for the install.
That's it.

Please note: you must have bought a tv for £169 or more, or you' ll need to buy one to obtain the deal.
If you are refused the offer you may want to ask to see a manager and state your case, failing that try another CURRYS, remember, at the end it is the store manager decision.
I am aware that some %$^$%£$ managers may refuse to give you the deal, but these are few and far between.
(I have no knowledge of Comet's deals regarding online or recently - instore bought TVs -)
Policies may change at any time.
If it all fails you could contact SKY, I think your better number is 08702 40 00 24

Good luck

I also said that I called Sky to upgrade to HD and they told me about the HD offer when you buy a TV which I did and to come into the shop to process the discounted hd box offer and that is the agreement they have with DSG.

Again...Good luck

I got a lcd tv from currys online (thanks for the codes guys!) and decided to go for the free sky+. I rang sky first and they really wanted me to get it (obviously) but because I had no branch number on my receipt they couldnt process the request. She suggested I went in to Currys as they get commission for any they do.

So, armed with my receipt and the advice from amino I headed off to the nearest Currys and they were REALLY helpful. From start to finish (about 20 minutes) they helped sort it out.

I now have an engineer coming to install sky+ on Wednesday. Thanks Amino, rep added !

I went into Currys with my online receipt, said I'd phoned Currys Customer Services and they told me to go into my local store and that I could have HD, worked a treat hadn't even finished my sentence and they offered me half price HD.

Starting another 12 month contract I would imagine, I didn't ask to tell the truth. I think it's open to new customers as well who buy a tv not just existing.

I never signed another contract. TBH I probably wont be getting rid of it anyway, Ive had it forever already !
