Hi, I'm with BT broadband just now and i'm finding them to be very slow for the £27 a month i'm paying, plus i'm getting very slow downloads with my torrents as well, i've tried all the port forwarding etc but still the same, so i am going to just go under another isp as i'm fedup with my so called 8mb broadband, but the only isp's i can get in my area are below, not many plus i can't get the BE isp which seems to be one of the best plus i can't get cable either, can anyone please tell me which would be the best one to move to. Thanks

Thanks for the replys, i can get Virgin broadband but only up to 8mb on my line, but i've heard bad thing's about Virgin like they limit your speed etc, so i don't really know they will be my best bet, but i did like the look of one of the packages they are doing the 8mb one for £17.99 or £19.99 plus it's only a 1 month trail which would be great if they are bad.

dnc1781, thanks for link but i still can't really find anything there to help, i thought there might have been a compare thing on there for me to put my phone number or post code in to search, unless i'm not looking hard enough.

Most of that lot wont be giving you broadband any faster than what you have as they will sell you a BT Wholesale provided broadband the same as your current BT Retail broadband isp so your so called 8mb will be exactly the same im afriad

I know i won't get any faster than 8mb from anyone else, but all i'm saying is that i'm so fed up with BT's slow browsing speeds & download speeds plus the random disconnects for the £27 i'm paying them a month, i've put up with this for 9 months and can't take it anymore, i've tried everything to get it better even on the phone with them for up to an hour at a time a few times going over the daft thing's that my 4 year old son would proberly know, if i could just find another isp that's even a bit better & cheaper than bt then i'll be happier.

the service wont be any better, you might find it a bit cheaper but the service will be exactly the same as it will be the same broadband service just billed from a different ISP , unless one of the isp's has their own equipment on your exchange........

Adsl24?

I'm paying £17.99 for 8meg plus unlimited anytime calls with Tiscali
Really crap and slow from 4pm till midnight, but my Torrents fly over night.

Having said that, I think Tiscali are rubbish, constant disconnections, very poor customer services. I would leave tomorrow, but cant find anyone even near there price.

I would happily recommend Plusnet and MADASAFISH, the latter getting better reports. type the code cheaper on their website for a cracking £10.99 per month for 6 months then £16.99 per month (equivalent to £13.99 for 12 months. If you want ot be refererred to plusnet give me a shout I get 50p off.

One of the best rated but little known ISP's is IDnet, www.idnet.com the customer support is the best in my opinion, calls are answered by a UK based person that knows what they are talking about and not just a script monkey. Where else will you get the MD ringing to to see if you are happy with the service? The only down side it they only operate during office hours.

Take a look and compare providers at www.thinkbroadband.com
