Need storage for my DVD's...

I have a crapload of DVD's and nowhere to put them. The ones that won't fit on my current stand are simply stacked on top of each other...not good for the box sets.

Anyone know of any cheap (but fairly large) DVD storage things?

Depends on the type of thing you want and the price you want to pay; Ikea have this for £99 holding 78 DVDs

Or this for £55 holding 140 DVDs.

For box sets, I use a plain old shelf. Special DVD racks are no use if they have the grooves for regular size boxes.

The design doesn't matter too much... I currently have a unit that's got 4 shelves and is fairly wide (33 normal sized DVD's per shelf), so I suppose I'd kinda prefer more in the width department than height.

What you've linked to look too thin and the first too expensive. If my current unit (£42) can hold 130+, there's no way that black lanky thing is worth £100. :p

2nd one will barely take my collections need like 3 -probs get the first one and get a fiver voucher

The first one looks like a winner since the total DVD's it can hold inside isn't counting how many you could fit on the top. Since the unit is very wide, I'm betting I could fit nearly all my box sets along the top of it. :p

Anyone have any better recommendations than the £54.99 one linked to in my previous post?

How big is your TV, 26"? Those units make it look tiny!

Nice, tidy looking set-up. If only my LXD70 hadn't had backlight bleed..I could've ditched my ****** 32" CRT and think about the looks side. :-(

I think I'll go for the £54.99 one since I prefer 'em wide and only want to buy one to last me - I've already got one DVD storage unit.

LOL they're not that big. The TV is only 23" and it's taken at a dodgy angle looking upwards really that makes them look very tall.
Thanks for the nice comments. Just trying to make the best of a small space.. i only have my bedroom to keep all my precious DVDs and things in :)

Oooh get you :p I've got a few more than that now but i tend only to keep the stuff i watch over and over. I can borrow DVDs from work for free so don't see the point in having things i'll only watch once :)

While I didn't have an awful lot, I've been getting lots of DVD's lately, mainly thanks to ADV and Anime-On-Line sales. 9 DVD's from ADV and 10 from HMV should be arriving soon - Another 19. :w00t:

How much did you pay for your 2 units; £39.99 each?

i just got a few pine storage chests from b&q ( in the b&q post for pics), paid £5 each and managed to tuck 250 dvds including some box sets in 1 box, leaving me with shelf space for just the newer ones or the ones i want to watch again and again.

no point having stuff on display you wont use, it just gives the wife more dusting to do when she could be clearing up after me
