I am looking for a good 10"+ netbook for around £250. I am after suitably fast processor, blue tooth, wifi, 3g if possible, 6 or 7 hr battery life and minimum1366x768 screen. Rep for anyone that can offer informed help. I am currently using a Medion Akoya Mini E1210, while its OK it is a year old now and the chassis is looking a little tired.

Mmm, there are a number of deals on the go at HUKD but your going to be struggling with regards to the higher screen resolution size you require.

Are you fussed about which operating system it will come with i.e. Windows XP Home Edition or Windows 7 Starter Edition?

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

I don't mind as I have a full 7 OS 32 and 64 bit. I was looking at the Sony I had posted available from Sainsburys but its battery life is to small really. My local store has offered me the display model for £220 but can't get it until the 10th. Would you recommend the Sony at this price? Build quality is important as i am really disappointed in the Akoya I have

Apologies for the delay in replying but you might want to consider the HP Mini Netbook deal via Amazon UK - that one was going for £209.99p and it would come with the bulk of the hardware you would need (it's running with an Intel Atom N270 CPU) but the maximum screen resolution would be 1024x600 (via the onboard screen) unless you hooked it up to a larger external screen.

HP Mini 10.1" Netbook, Windows 7, N270, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive, Bluetooth, 6 Cell Battery (6 Hours Life) --- Amazon --- £209.99 delivered - HotUKDeals Forum

If you need a hand looking at other deals out there please let me know, so I can help you out going forward - at least this deal (which is still active) would cover the bulk of your requirements and still keep you well under budget as well plus it's easy to upgrade the memory as well.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Thanks Scotty Boy, I have my eye on the Sony I have posted a deal on here

Although I am swaying towards the Acer Aspire One 751 here:

http://www.simplyacer.com/Black_Acer_Aspire_One_751_702734.html

My only concern with this is the processor being 1.33Ghz. what do you think? will it struggle with word documents and itunes running for example?

Apparently there has been a lot of problems with the 751 model series - the core issue is the netbook itself locking up completely for a few minutes or having to be powered off and back on again to get it working once more.

There's a thread over at the Acer Aspire One User Community Forum (I'll hunt out the link) with covers this, as a lot of people have had to return them to Acer (a straightforward refund or a fault return) to get them repaired (you should consider checking out the reviews over at Amazon UK as well) - note that the general consensus was it was down to (1) the manufacturing process, (2) faulty components and (3) overheating within the unit.

If your interested in a 11.6" series model netbook let me know and I can have a hunt around for you to see what I can find out for you, as there were a number of deals on the go previously.

Your a diamond, disaster overted. I would be happy with a 11.6" and will pay upto £300+ as long as i can get 3G, bluetooth, decent processor (maybe new dual core i have read about N330??) and battery life and solid build quality. My Medion Akoya is OK but just doesnt exude the class of Sony for example.

Dont want much really.

Here's one to consider (it's fairly new, posted last night) but unfortunately it doesn't have 3G and Bluetooth - the only models out that do would be well over £300 I'm afraid.
