I've got my parents a booster. I've set it up fine and can see the wi-fi with the EXT at the end but when I try to connect to it on my mobile I get Authentication Problem.

I've tried the same, trying to connect the Firestick and I get the same message. I've also tried the Router password too and that is the same.

I can connect on WiFi normally to the wi-fi without the EXT fine, albeit with a poor signal! I've logged on to the router itself and the security mode is WPA-PSK and WPA2 with new devices allowed.

What am I doing wrong? I've tried numerous times to set it up and the signal is great on the extender I just can't connect to it!

it should have a button on it to pair. press that and the one on your router whilst they are plugged in next to each other. they should pair within 30 seconds. if successful unplug the extender and take it where its needed

Yep I can get it to pair with the router fine I just then can't get it to connect with any device!

Check your password for the extension. Authentication problems are generally password errors.

I found better to use same SSID rather than have name with EXT added. Devices get handed over automatically and it's much easier and more convenient. That may also be worth trying given your issue - if use same SSID and pwd, then should connect (you should see from signal strength if handed over or not).

Is anyone trying to connect an Apple device??

I had something similar a few months ago, it had been working perfectly then stopped. Upon investigation, the timing matched an IOS update, so I switched off the iPad - and everything worked.

I ended up having to downgrade the firmware on the router (and hence the security settings), before I could get the repeater to work with the iPad.

I half got it sorted. Had to plug the extender directly into my parents computer and add devices manually so the Firestick and my mobile. Forgot to do my tablet and couldn't get that to connect same authentication problem. Didn't appear to be able to go back and add more devices so gave up, least the Firestick and my mobile works.
