Hi all,

I have recently put together my new build (LGA1151 Gigabeyte B150N Wifi Board, 16GB DDR4 RAM, I5-6400, Thermaltake Core V1 case, Super Flower Golden Green HX 450W PSU, Samsung EVO 850 250GB SSD and 3TB Toshiba HDD) and it did not boot properly. It boots up all the fans spin (PSU, Case and CPU), then the CPU fan slows down and it turns off. After a few seconds it turns on again, then it loops between booting up, then off again for a few seconds.

So far I have:

- Checked all cables and connectors (inc the case power connector to the right pins on the Mobo)
- Removed heatsink and inspected the CPU - seems fine and was seated correctly
- Tried new PSU
- Tried new RAM
- Disconnected everything apart from the motherboard apart from CPU power connector from PSU, case power on switch and the main 24 pin power from the PSU. The motherboard was taken out the case and put on top of the anti-static bag it came in.

Could you please advise. I'm thinking it may be the Mobo, shall I get a replacement?

Many thanks!

Very easy to overlook the simple things when we are building dream machines. :)

haven't built a pc for years, but can you not plug in the case speaker to see if you get any error codes?

that's how i used to work out if the motherboard was shot or something else.

Many thanks guys, It was the RAM, I thought I had it the right way round and seated properly. Installing Win 10 as we speak.
