Persimmon and its ok. No major problems. Previous one was bellway and had no end of problems with the plumbing. Very poor workmanship.

I can only go by what I own. There isn't anything particularly wrong with it. I'm missing a bit of beading on my skirting board and a couple of other niggly bits of no consequence. In my last house the plumbing was not flushed through which meant all the copper off cuts ended up in the central heating pump which broke within the year. The immersion heater was live which is probably not very good considering it is in the hot water tank. This I found out when we had to have that replaced because it was so badly fitted it failed. I could go on and on. I'm not saying my house is perfect : you get what you pay for. All I'm saying is that there is nothing drastically wrong with it.

If money were no object I would've bought the new home built by independent small builders in the next street. Size wise it was very similar to what I did buy but the fittings were much nicer. It was also £50k dearer. I'm quite handy with a drill and paintbrush so I've taken that basic model and upgraded it myself at a fraction of the cost. I might be lucky or because I am fairly handy I may not consider a snag a snag. I just fix things as I go along if I can. Obviously the fact there was no door handle on the back door is up to the developer but a hole that can be filled with a bit of polyfilla is neither here nor there

David Wilsons have been pretty awful, loads of problems, we'd never use them again.

Bought two homes now with Harron Homes. last home was the Show home (house currently in). very spacious large 4 bed house. very unique in style. small snagging issues and we're slow to sort just had to chase a little. also had a leaving playroom which NHBC had to sort as it was over 6 years but was sorted with no issues within 3 weeks of notifying them.

fixtures and fittings were of a high end quality. very happy as previous house before the two Harron Homes was a Taylor Wimpey which was nice just very square with no characteristics like the Harron homes which has nice looking porch on the front and windows in an old looking stonework.

Customer service before you moved in - Brilliant, couldn't do more for you
Customer service after you have moved in - woeful. Their 1, 3 and 12 month quality checks didnt happen unless you chase them multiple times, Had a leak in the shower due to poor titling and took 6 months and 6 different people to attend before they put it right.
Remember the big companies just sub contract local trades. However i'm happy. If i bought a 2nd hand house and had the leak in the shower it would have cost me £1k to fix. Instead it just cost me a few phone calls and work from home days to get repaired due to the warranty.

Current house built by Persimmon - worst ever. Rubbish quality, workmanship and after sales service. Previous home built by Keepmoat - better quality, workmanship and after sales service.

We are in Barratts atm, 2.5 years and it was fine. few issues as you would expect and sorted quickly.

Looking at Persimmons atm as need a bigger house and they seem to be building in the areas we like.
Offer seems very basic compared to Barratts, did you negotiate with them like stamp duty or upgrades?
We are fine with diy so won't be a problem to upgrade etc.

As such it was already reduced and I also didn't pay for the upgrades the previous people had asked for like the monoblock drive. The downside was I didn't get to chose the carpets etc but I've replaced them with wood flooring downstairs anyway. The deal on my street is lawned gardens, all floor coverings, stamp duty paid and £1000 towards legal fees. Meant buying the house cost about £100.

only snug is there are only a couple of plots i would buy, others not a great position imho.
