Hey.

I am very new to this, and so far I have been cigarette free for 3 days, but the smoke really kicks my in my throat and almost brings tears to my eyes. I am trying liquid called Dankon or something like that.

People seem to be right into this and can be hit and miss.

I have tried Lambert and Butler, which was gross, but I am on cherry now, which is not bad, but still feels really harsh.

I used to smoke 20 a day and on 16mg of this liquid.

Any suggestions, or proven brands?

Thanks

get champix from the doctor, it's free and very effective.

12mg menthol. I've come to the conclusion that everything else tastes like **** no matter what. You could try to source some made with vegetable glycerin as that seems to be less harsh.

************This, i've said it before- my old man had a 50 a day /30 year habit..... the quack put him on Champix anddddddddddd BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM------- he's now smoke free.

The only drawback is the side effects, if i remember correctly my old man suffered serious sleep deprivation including nightmares.

You havent been taking Champix for 13 months, so there is self control involved.

You are supposed to reduce the dose taken to eventually 0, funnily enough one of the side effects is addiction to the drug itself. X)

I have done champix 3 times. I will be honest it works, but I am too weak willed, just one of those personalities I guess.

So menthol is better than the rest? Where do I find these natural Vegi ones ?

I'm not going to comment on the NRT, however I will on vaping.

It really depends on your tastebuds, it varies from person to person.

I will however advise against brands such as Dekang, Hangsen and Diamond Mist all mass produced juice from China. All IMO taste chemically and crap, if you have a specialist vape shop in your city head there.

ignore the 3 for £10 juices, they're normally mass produced crap by someone who knows nothing about vaping or the products they sell.

Id also recommend heading over to Planetofthevapes.co.uk

its a very friendly online forum with over 12,000 members some of which have vaped for 10 years before most knew about vaping.

don't worry to much op your only three days in and with time you get used to the taste and strength. I use hangsen ry5 at 12mg and find it quite smooth, and I've been cig free for 18mths now. not to disagree but find the liquid you can buy in local shops to be watered down. but stick with it and you really will find it a lot healthier and easy on the throat and lungs.

I felt the same, it comes down to one thing, do you want to quit or not? until you really do want to quit you will always find an excuse. my kids kept on at me but that never made me want to quit, until one day my 6 year old was crying and asked him why, he said they watch a video at school about people who smoked and he didn't want me to die like the people in the video.

Im choking thinking about it now, it was a real wake up call, i promised him from that day onward i would quit!

I wont lie it was the hardest thing i ever did, but 1 day at a time, became 1 week at a time to 1 month at a time and now 13 months in and I can safely say I am there.

i suppose vaping is better than nothing and each to there own. but are you turning to vape because you still want to smoke or is it truly your way of quitting smoking full stop?

completely agree with haritori on the kicking the habit fully thing, but did not want to myself and was really happy to find a healthier alternative that worked. don't be put of so soon op and whatever option you choose good luck

I know that if vaping had been as widespread as it is now when I quit then I never would have quit. I'd either be vaping to this day or back on the fags. All it would have done is fill my head with excuses to stay addicted to nicotine.

I don't do it for the nicotine, I like the pain feeling in my lungs. Pain proves i'm still alive.

Congrats on getting off the cigs, canada13 :D
You'll be counting the weeks, rather than the days, before you know it.

I switched to vape three and a half months ago, and haven't had one cigarette in that time. Am quite proud of that - and the wife and kids are so pleased.
I bought my kit and get all of my liquids from an e-cig shop on my local high street. It's a franchise operating out of Sheffield, apparently - called Mirage.
Initially I was on tobacco flavour, but after a couple of weeks I switched to blueberry, and have been on that since.
The shop I use lets you try all the various flavours. I imagine that's a fairly common thing amongst high-street retailers. Might be worth you popping in and asking to try a few.

Keep up the good work, and don't be discouraged by the people saying you should just quit instead. You do what you want mate. Personally, I like smoking. I just don't like the cost, or the thought of lung cancer! I initially switched to vape as a means to help quit but tbh I'm happy to just keep using this instead.

As for any concerns about the long-term health consequences of vaping - I'm not worried. It's probably perfectly safe, and if it eventually turns out there's something negative I'm pretty sure they'll still be a damned site better than cigarettes!

I've tried a few brands since giving up smoking at the beginning of Feb. I agree the 3 for £10 are made in china to low standards. I've started ordering most of my juices from Joose Juice after a friend's recommendation and they're the best I've had for the price - 10ml bottles are only about £1.50! I order 10 at a time for £16.20ish delivered. Can definitely recommend Belgian waffle flavour! Its good with a bit of banana in it too although it depends on your taste, I've never really liked the tobacco ones. I've also used LT ecigs, bought 10 small bottles from them but they're steeping at the moment, I tried one a couple of days ago but it seemed good. They also sell drip tips and other accessories cheap too.

Similar to Rubisco vaping wasn't as widespread when I quit. I weaned myself off by going from B & H to Silks, then Silks mild and then Ultra low. But I will say this:

DON'T even have a single puff now that you've decided to stop. You'll find the cravings will become less intense and less frequent day by day but occasionally it'll hit you out of nowhere or when you're stressed etc. But just fight the urge, it will pass.
Its a real slippery slope, and just one has the potential to undo all the work you've done.

Best of luck. It can be done.

Thank you for all your support. I think its all trial and error at the end of the day with brands and flavours.

Will keep at it, 5 days I think and not one cigarrette, feel better, but want a smoother flavour that gives lots of smoke if there is such a thing..

Thanks again

Ok got a new coil and now on 11mg blueberry, very very nice flavour, but its giving me a bad belly, whats up with that.. lol

I am not sure whether I should try the pure VG stuff
#25
I use a device called tusstu that has vape cartridges (I prefer the 12mg menthol). It looks like a cigarette and is quite well made. Its probably a bit dearer than buying the liquids but I'm not a fan of the devices that look like crack-pipes. 5 cartridges cost £8.99

Well I just bought some Pure VG stuff, as not sure if the PG is giving me a bad belly, only 8.00 delivered and its 100% VG
Got the Peach and Coconut.
Will report back..
But damn I am coughing so much, but maybe because of the Cigs coming off my chest.
How often do you guys suck on these things ? I cant put the Blueberry down.. lol

Dirty Stan has already mentioned joosejuice.co.uk - top quality juice at rock bottom prices.

They offer bogof on 30ml, and discount code aaec12 (allaboutelectriccigaretes - a good forum) takes 12% off. Spend over £40 and its free delivery, although you can't use two codes, the vendor will refund the postage by PayPalgift if you email

As Dirty Stan says, cheap 10ml samplers too if you are unsure if you will like a flavour

You can also select the strength of the liquid, the amount if flavouring and the pg VG ratio

Heartily recommend:
Vanilla cheesecake
Irish cream
Red bull
Softmint
#28
Grants Vanilla Custard

Grizwalds Black Cat

Expensive but top notch stuff. I've quit smoking and vaping now but during the 6 months that I was vaping, those were the 2 best flavours I tasted.

Just tried some flavours from here : http://ezee-vape.co.uk/

Not bad and 10% off till the end of July (says June on the website but....).
