Hi, I'm new to this & usually only read everyone else's posts but.......it's that time when I need some advice, please be gentle with me!

My mobile contract is due for renewal soon & I am looking for a good deal (as always) I wouldn't mind getting one of the newer Ericson's or a newish Nokia & don't mind which network really. I'm currently on O2 with 200 minutes & 100 texts which I never use & pay £30 a month, any idea's or advice would be welcome!

Thanks

I'd advise the Sony Ericsson K750i. It isn't their newest phone but I have one and it's really good!! There's a lot you can do with it and it looks good too. 8)

thelink.com have it but it's refurbished. Syaing that though, you get 200 x-net mins and 100 texts on o2 with double talk and text for 3 months (same as you're on now). This offer gives you 10 months free line rental, which you claim back from The Link as cashback at specified intervals, so after cashback it works out at £60 for the whole year. If you purchase via QuidCo you get £45 in extra cashback, bringing the price down to £15 for the year (including the phone!!).

carphonewarehouse.com have it on a brand new handset. It's on Vodafone - £69.99 for the whole year (after cashback once again). You get 275 x-net mins per month but no texts. QuidCo offer £20 for this transaction, bringing the price down to a penny short of £50.

Both retailers have a good high-street reputation which they don't wish to damage, so the cashback should be really reliable.

I hope that helps. If you need more info let me know.

For info on the K750i visit the official website at http://www.sonyericsson.com/k750/

If that's not the phone/offer you were after then feel free to ask me to look harder, lol. I quite like trying to find stuff.

I think that one will be okay though. :D

I love the K750i; it's older than the W800i/W810i but there's still very few differences between them.

Thanks for that Duckmagic2

What do you think about the K800i? I don't think its available just yet but wondered if there are many differences between the K800i & the K750i!

My son has the K750i & likes it but he wants a newer phone now as he's had that for a year

The main difference on the K800i seems to be that the screen is much clearer and the camera is a lot better too. The K750i has a 2 megapixel camera with a 4x zoom - the K800i has a 3.2 megapixel camera with a 16x zoom!! That's a much higher quality camera, and better than a lot of digital cameras too.

Also, the phone has 64MB internal memory, whereas the K750i only has 32MB. This doesn't really make much difference though as you can use memory cards to expand this anyway.

The cheapest offer is on Orange at e2save. e2save are owned by The CarPhoneWarehouse. The tariff gives you 200 x-net mins and 75 texts per month. The offer is 11 months half price line rental on a 12 month contract after cashback. So, after cashback, it works out at less than £17 per month - or £195 for the entire year and phone. Don't forget that if you purchase via QuidCo.com you will get an extra £36.50 in cashback!! Click here to go to the offer at e2save.com but don't forget to purchase via QuidCo.com if you want that extra cashback!!

Of course, you could wait and see if the price comes down, but the question is how long do you wait?? The W810i has been out for a while now and it's still £150 for the entire year on a contract. I don't think this K800i will get much cheaper than this.

I hope that helps!! :D

Didn't you mean 11 months half price?

Hi

I just called o2 about the K800i as my contract is finished on the 12th July
Initally was offered £30 pm for 200 mins + 200 texts + £119 upgrade.

Managed to get them down to:
£15 per month for 200 mins + 500 texts + the K800i for £69!

I reckon that is a top deal!!

Hi again,

Well I rang O2 as well & enquired about the K800i as an upgrade, they offered me the phone for £49.99 on the same contract, 200 mins, 100 texts.

I told them I had been offered it free as a new customer so I wasn't prepared to pay for it & then they offered to reduce my monthly cost to £25 per month saving £60 per year which not only made the phone free but with a £10 profit.

It seems it pays to have a look around for the best deal & then call them, they should then match it at least!

I rang O2 again to see if they would offer me anything better on the K800i & they have now offered the phone for £49.99 & half price line rental of £15 per month for the year with the same 200 mins & 100 texts.

Has anybody seen any better deals than this? Also wondered what people that have the K800i think of the phone, I have always been a Nokia fan until now but don't fancy any of their current phones.

Would appreciate any feedback, thanks.
