My 75 year old mothers Nexus 7 tablet has finally packed in and she needs a replacement.
Needs to be under £200, and android (what she is used to).
Mainly used for surfing the internet, Facebook and Skype.
Can someone give me some pointers as to what to go for and hopefully some links where to buy from.
Thanks in advance.

Fire Tablet for £49.99 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fire-Tablet-Display-Wi-Fi-Black/dp/B00Y3TM6CO

Or the newer Fire HD 8 for £89.99 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01AHBEJTE

The £50 one is pretty decent and does what it needs.

Another Nexus 7 I'm presuming the previous one was 1st gen model.

Nvidia Shield K1. Ignore the fact it is marketed as a gaming tablet. It kills more or less anything every thrown at it and the two front facing speakers are very good in comparison to most other tablets. Also a 5mp front facing camera with HDR for skype etc. 8" tablet so just slighter bigger. Available on Amazon/BT Shop and Nvidia's own website.

Amazon have it reduced to £152.58 at present.

In that size form factor ... perhaps the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4.
Its one of the better looking small tablets with narrow bezels to the sides. It is only 8GB storage (expandable to 32GB by Micro SD) which should not be a problem though if its only really used for surfing.
£144 from a seller on Amazon

On a Nexus the OS was pure Android, on other non Google tablets the OS will be skinned so will look slightly different

have a look for a Sony xperia compact tablet, it's 8 inch but is very comfortable to hold and pretty light as well. 16gb storage which is really the absolute minimum you need. the Samsung Tab S2 8 inch is also worth a shout, also has great battery life, very light, and has a ton of storage, 32gb. can often be found for around the £200 mark.
