Hi guys Im after a top palooka hotel for New York in May, I have got a good deal with the hyatt so far but I reckon it can be beaten, my dates are 14-19 May 09

Not sure whether you want cheap and clean or expensive and fancy? For the former check out the Herald Square Hotel. My advice - don't spend an awful lot of money on your hotel in NYC, you're hardly in it!

we stayed in the park central.. 3.5 star v nice cost us 128 per night. be sure to check weather its a hotel or a hostel the one we stayed in the first night was sold as a hotel but turned out to be a hostel....

sorry works out at 1232 usd plus vat, but thats with using a ton of hyatt points for one free night

oh i want nice and comfy, i like my luxuries when travelling, I know your not in it much but i dont want to dread going back to it at night, plus my G/F would never go cheap lol

i stayed @ the waldorf Astoria fab place but expensive but was well worth it for the 3 days i was there proper classy n old .

yeah it is next to the grand, looks nice but i hear the walls are amazingly thin, not that im planning on anything lol

yeah we priced up the waldorf a while ago but the exchange rate has plummeted now meaning its over 800 quid dearer, doh!!!

Mark stayed at the Hyatt and the W. W is modern and fantastic service.

I stayed at the Hyatt in May this year, if its fairly cheap go for it. Its in the perfect location, Times Square is 5 minuites walking. When the windows are closed u cant hear a thing. Oh, and lucky you going to NYC, its just amazing!

cheers, we got the cheap flights with expedia.au half the price of the uk site, go figure!!

its top of the list so far i think but i my hang on for travelzoo to see if they get anything in the new year

Fair enough if you can afford it but while i was there all we ever used our hotel room for was wake up, have shower then get home, into bed. Herald Square was fine for that but I'd even consider booking an apartment, I did that last year and it was great.
