PS4 or Xbox One? Thoughts?

360 but mainly because it was much cheaper than PS3. But this gen they same to be fairly evenly priced.

Yeah loved it, but sure I would have loved PS3 as well.

Really am quite easy going when it comes to games...

Thanks for your response.

If you have any friends who use one or the other and want to game with them or if there is an exclusive or feature on one that you can't be without then buy that one. Otherwise get a PS4, it is smaller, cheaper, faster, has a built in power supply so no powerbrick to try to hide.

I went for ps4 over xbox one.

I love the console, great choice. But I still want an xbox one down the line, the picture in picture feature really holds my attention. But I won't bite till its a lot cheaper.

Their both good consoles. You won't make a mistake based on either console.

The 1080p vs 720 war and 60 fps to 30 fps
it's not that noticeable. Game sites love using it as a way to bait traffic to their sites and to feed the console wars.

I'd say get what your friends have.

Yeah I do think the PS4 is the better console. However, I like the idea of the 'all in one' system. Just switch between games, TV, Netflix easily. I laughed when MS kept going on about this when they announced it, but I quite like the idea.

Am I the only one?

Look at a list of games that are only available for PS4 and for XBox 1 that will be released next year. Linky Maybe that could help you. :)

Ps4 is better bang for buck. Ps3 was better than the 360 but it demanded a higher price.

This generation, the are evenly priced, with the ps4 dominating in specs.

Its a no brainer.

Having just got a xbox (at a push and was very cheap) I went for it for some reason ps4 didn't interest me i think game wise there easier and cheaper to pick up for xbox also i looked at current exclusives (tho not many) it won me over but I admit I will cry when uncharted gets released.

I dont have either console but I am pretty sure Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Amazon Prime etc are availabel on the PS4 although I think the XB One has a Freeview adapter if thats your thing.

Exactly this except I went down the xb1 route. All about what your friends have, have played both and are comparable, most fun is multiplayer with friends.

And if you are just a casual gamer and after a lot of fun the wii u looks good, mario cart and super smash bros are both rediculous amounts of fun.

You are 100% right about the specs, but at the end of the day, they are both fairly comparable. If graphics and frame rate are really important to you, pc gaming is far better. And if gameplay is your thing it's probably a toss of a coin. Up until a couple of months ago, the gameplay on the PS3 eg the last of us and gta v was better than any 'next gen'. (Probably not the case now)

It's all down to a couple of things really, where your friends are and what exclusives you prefer. If you played 360 last gen and didn't miss Playstation exclusives I'd advise Xbox on the basis you'd like to continue with friends/gamerscore/same exclusives etc . If that doesn't bother you then maybe a Playstation is for you this time round.

I own both by the way and I'm completely neutral.

Excellent advice. Stick to posting stuff you see on the news or what's about to start on telly.

They're basically the same, get what your friends have. Social+Gaming=Xbox
Just Gaming=PS4

as a lot have mentioned, first and foremost, get the console your friends have got if you want to play multilayer titles

then look at exclusives..get the console you most like the look of exclusive wise

then factor in things like the features of the console

i personally bought a Xbox One, i have it hooked up to my cloud and stream films and TV shows and also view netflix and watch my cable through it. It has superb multimedia capabilities and is very fast at switching between various apps(i believe it doesnt close the last app off, just hides it in the background)

Xbox 1. Only reason don't like the feel, position of buttons on the ps4 controller. Get to hmv and give them both a go.

Xbox 1 = kids ps4 = adults

ps4!

Been a Sony man since the PS1 days and very happy with the PS4. Don't feel I'm missing out not having both. There aren't too many exclusives on either these days, in fact I'm gutted the Xbox gets the new Tomb Raider before Sony but there you go. Am looking forward to the next Uncharted though.

When making your decision don't forget the Vita with Remote Play, "free" PS+ downloads (loved Uncharted Golden Abyss and Lego LOTR) and dual purchase on a lot of games too. Microsoft don't have any equivalent. Great to play at work during "breaks" lol and it keeps my trophy count ticking up too X)
