Hi all. I'm looking for a DS Lite but don't want to pay the prices you see on ebay/in shops. Any clues or know of anyone wanting to get rid of their's? I don't have a tv so this will hopefully engage me instead!
Cheers

It'd be cheaper to buy a TV!

Amazon are selling them for £94.99 including delivery.

Or try this post.

Or this post.

Or this post. (Boots at £99.99 then use this voucher for £10 off, plus all the advantage points, plus 6% cashback from Quidco. Potential price £84.59 plus points)

Or you could even consider using the forum search function?

lzaltash: It would be nice if you appeared to have done at least some sort of search before posting a message. You sound as though you want us to do all the hard work and search around for you.

I recommend that everyone who is asking for help on a deal to at least quote 2 prices that they have found from online shops as well as the links. That way, we know:

1) You are putting effort into it as well and not just depending on us to do the hard work
2) We have an amount to compare to when we find a deal for that product.
3) One of us might know how to get the price lower at one of the shops you found (i.e. through vouchers, quidco, etc etc)

I totally agree, and I am just about to make a post about it in the suggestions section of the forum.

See here.

Thanks for the unnecessarily abrupt reply boonkoh. I'm new to forums and didn't realise there was a certain amount of info I should be posting. Apologies for not being experienced.

I've been looking for one for about a month now. Yes I have already searched the forums. When I followed the link to the first post (about two weeks ago) as very helpfully suggested by cutthroat_jake (much appreciated btw - need more people like you) I found that the price was actually about £15 dearer than on the forum. EBay generally go for around £80 plus £20 p&p.

I had noticed that someone had a used one here for sale for around £60 at the beginning of this month and was wondering if anyone else wanted to get rid of theirs hence the post.

Big thanks to cutthroat_jake. Just went through Boots for £99.99, got double points plus the additional 1500 points and 6% quidco so by my calculations that's £71.01. Excellent!

Sorry for my harsh message... its just that I've seen way too many "I'm looking for (insert product name here). What's the best deal available?"

All of us like to help other Hotukdeals.com members out, but we would like to see an effort being made by the poster to find the deals by themselves first.

Also, by posting a price or two that you have found, you are sharing knowledge, which is a good thing. It also prevents unneccesary posts, as replies will only have deals that are cheaper than the ones you've found. And who knows... maybe the price you found initially is the best around, in which case you're helping everyone else who are looking for the product as well.

Anyways, here's my olive branch:

John lewis has the DS Lite at 99.95 (although out of stock at the moment). However, they also have a 20 pounds off 50 pound spend voucher (search this forum for it). Plus quidco at ~5%.

So when it comes back in stock, you can grab it for about 76 pounds, and from a big company too.

1 - how awful for you...

2 - If you share the information of prices that you have found it assists anyone who might help you find a deal

3 - If you have trawled the forums already mate then let people know what you've found - duplicated effort is no use to anyone.

These aren't experience issues, merely common sense.

I have no problem with the original poster's question - some of us on here LIKE the challenge! I often find things for people when they post - it's a community where each other's help usual balances out nicely.

I wish more people would do this - I really feel I'm owed far more karma than I've been given!

No worries boonkoh - I'll climb back off my high horse now! Thanks for your help and I do understand your frustrations!

LOL you're a very naughty boy, the philosophy behind true karma doesn't quite work like that.
As Bogart said "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday you'll get a hill of beans..." or something

I appreciate you - but can't give you Karma, cause I just gave it to cuthroat Jack :-P
see you next time.

THat was the old karma system chris, try it again now... you can give a limited amount out in an day now...!

i found it at virgin megastores for £84.99

you can get 10% using the code virgincreditcard10 at the checkout (£8.50 off), and also quidco offer 5.5% cashback (£4.20 off), that makes this console a grand total of £72.29!

EDIT: Just noticed this is the original DS, not the Lite version but if someone wants to save a tenner over a Lite then this is an option.
