Non-Cashback Contracts

Seems like every advertised deal these days involves cashback and frankly I'm not trusting a) a random company to correctly mail me large sums of money over the next 1-2 years and b)myself to keep track of bills and dates to post bills back within etc. so..

Anyone have any good contract deals that don't require cashback?

Preferences - free phone, with a choice of decent new ones and either plenty of texts or a choice of adding a text bundle. Low monthly charge is the main preference as it's a 2nd phone.

Well, if you don't want a cashback contract then the only choice is straight from the networks. If you buy it from the network's website then it's no cheaper than buying from a cashback site and forgetting to send in the cashback, so you may as well buy a deal you like from a cashback company such as e2save or Carphone Warehouse who are trusted and if you get the cashback you get it and if you don't you don't.

On the other hand, you can often get much cheaper deals by telephoning the networks and asking what is the best deal they can offer you over the phone. They will be a lot cheaper than online, but no where near as cheap as a cashback contract. This is the best option if you totally want to avoid cashback.

If ringing around companies, then www.saynoto0870.com/search.php may help you find a freephone number or geographical number (included in mobile minutes or landline minute deals) rather than the standard 0870/0845 numbers which often cost you more.

Maybe I wasn't clear? I'm wondering if there are any offers currently available.

Past examples include the 25% off Flext contracts from t-mobile, 18 months of a £10 reduction on a £25 tariff from Orange and so on.

I know you're only trying to help but 'Ring everyone and ask them' kinda defeats the purpose of this site doesn't it?

Well they do great offers on the phone. Three have been known to give half price line rental forever over the phone in the past.

Unfortunately it's difficult for me to find out what offers people do over the phone as they're changing them very often and the salespeople always think I want to buy things. :(

Yes.. this site is to get help finding deals, and to help others to find deals.

The thing is Artemis, this is what you're doing:

"Hi guys! I'm looking for the cheapest deal on (insert product name here). I'm going to go make some coffee, watch Big Brother, while I expect you all to fall head over heels and search for the best deal for me. And all within the next 24 hours please"

We will help you... but first we want to see that you've done some research by yourself first. So do the following:

1) State your usage.. how many mins/texts are you looking for? particular network? phone? etc etc
2) State what you have found so far... it will show us that you have done some work already, and will give us an idea of what price the deal has to beat.

What about a deal where you get a free XBOX 360 or a LCD TV instead of the cashback? Would that work for you?
#6
and you can get the xbox/tv/ipod in the first month...
#7
Most of the iPod/XBox deals not only give you the free gift but a lot allow you to claim cashback too. It's worth it for the free gift anyway, if you get cashback it's a bonus for you but you don't have to claim it. ;)

Actually, i just remembered...

I got a call from o2 the other day about renewing my contract, and was offered 200 mins 100 text for 12 months, normally 30 pounds. But here are the perks I was offered:

1) half price line rental for 12 months
2) free phone... nokia 6131, 6111, 6233, etc etc

After calculating, it ends up only costing 180 for 12 months, as well as a phone that easily costs more than that RRP, and if I sell on eBay can fetch up to 160/170. So I could easily get a renewed 12 month contract for 10 pounds, with no cashback!

This shows that you can get good deals on the phone. Just be persistent and bargain. I'm going to call them back this evening and ask for extra text bundles on top of that deal!

6131, 6111, 6233 don't really have a selling value above £180.

6233 is the newest and that's about £100 on PAY-G at The Link.

What a bizarre read on what I wrote.

How about 'Guys, anyone actually already know this information I'm after?'

Seeing as there's hundreds/thousand of people using this site, the majority of which probably have a mobile phone, isn't that a somewhat more logical, and infinitely more positive, spin on what I actually asked?

Not really... if you do decide to ring up and try and coax half price line rental out of the likes of three or o2 then it all depends on who you speak to and how helpful they are, there doesn't really seem to be a fixed state of offers. They just tap about on their computers and give you the "best deal they can find" but it often varies salesman to salesman for some strange reason...

Not really, as I mentioned in the op the main thing I'm looking for is low monthly charge with a choice of free phones. I don't want freebies or the hassle of posting things off and hoping for money.

T-Mobile just have a 500text bundle for their 'Relax' plans - which are rubbish plans anyway and haven't got any offers on their Flext plans that I can find.

Any contracts of £15 monthly these days? The 2nd phones contract that just ran out was a £15 monthly with Orange due to some random offer but the cheapest on Orange I can find is £19 a month for an appallingly low amount of minutes.

No, there aren't any that price available online without cashback. Only over the phone with the retailers.

Here's the numbers (taken me 15 minutes to find these, so that's some work out of the way for you).

The numbers I've found you are all freephone from your landline!!

Three: 0800 3589571
o2: 0800 0890281 / 0800 0890114
Vodafone: 0800 0158079
Orange: 0800 0790438
T-Mobile: 0808 1219999
BT mobile: 0800 0322111 / 0800 3287526

Also, Virgin Mobile. Couldn't find freephone for them but 0845 6000 070 is local rate. Also worth trying 01225 895555 which is included in landline/mobile minutes if you have that.

I got the K800 on O2 contract. 12 months @ 19 per month

if you use quidco you can get £35 back, and I have got mine back so can vouch for O2. works out around £16 a month, and you get a good phone/camera

That was the cheapest contract for the K800 at the time, and you don't need to send in bills either.

hope that helps, other than that orange do it, but you're looking at around £30-35 a month if you dont want to mess around with the bills.

Really? hmm... true, the 6234 (a similar model ) is only 129.99. But for some reason on ebay, its selling for 140-160? interesting.... I can't explain it!
#16
The 6234 is the Vodafone name for the same product. ;)
#17
what were the deals available where you get a free xbox 360 etc?
#18
When I was cancelling my O2 contract the retention guy offered me a K750i for free, 400 xnet minutes/month, rental £15/month, can't remember how many texts. I preferred the cashback option on the K750i.
#19
I went for one of these in the end. Don't really care about the refurb phone and it's £15 a month for the full 18 months.
