i cant see anywhere else cheaper, but you do know you can get some just as good alternatives for free on the internet
#2
why not try something else for free....

Many online banking sit and ISP provide full 12 months licence for free. For example, Natwest offer Mcafee internet security suit.

If you still want to stick with norton.. i would go for the 360 version as it use lighter resource...

Just because its got a yummy mummy on the box doesn't mean its any good.

http://www.clamwin.com

http://free.grisoft.com

http://www.comodo.com/

All free.
As a few will agree with me, avoid Norton like the plague.

I`ll say it only once DON`T TOUCH NORTON it`s a pile of POOP :whistling:

People have different preferences on the free ones I personally use AVG Free from grisoft above ;-)

Without Norton your Pc will run more efficient and faster ;-)

Yep avoid Norton

The above recomendations are excellent but I prefer ZoneAlarm as a firewall.

But if you insist on using Norton

Laptops Direct have it for £29.97 + P&P (£4.95)

There are a few other retailers (that I've never heard of) who have it a little bit cheaper if you froogle it

Yeh this isn't my thing to buy something like this,my partner usually knows what we want concerning this sort of thing so I show him everyones suggestions about an alternative.
Yeh I know Nortons isn't popular with many people, seen it mentioned loads times all over various forums etc.

AVG is certainly a lot better than Norton and its free. In my honest opinion if you are willing to purchase an av, then NOD32 wins hands down. It has great virus and spyware protection as well as using very little system resource.

Thanks is cheaper as postage is £2.49 for upto 0.5 kg this likely will weigh less than 0.5kg.

I couldnt see the postage prices.. still, under £30 is a good price.

I use Novatech often, though im local and tend to reserve and pick up.

norton is terrible, most viruses are made to get around that because it is very popular

download AVG off download.com

its FREE!!

if you need any more help , feel free to pm
#13
avast! is very good with 14 months free updates.

My partner as read this thread and he going go for a free download, plus we kind of left it late to order, got about 3 or 4 days left of Nortons now.
Thanks 4 everyones input.

remember though that your norton was an internet suite so you will need to get an anti virus package AND a firewall.

AVG anti virus http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-virus/us/frt/0

Zone alarm Firewall http://www.download.com/3000-2092-10039884.html

Spybot search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

lavasoft adaware http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

these 4 things should help keep you nice qand clean, you can set them up to update automatically and run automaticaly also. then just periodically use an onlne scanner such as panda or trend to double check al is well

I had norton once, it blocks so much,

i've tested the following programs:

McAffee Internet Security Suite
AVG Anti-Spyware
AVG Anti-Virus
ZoneAlarm Free
ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite
Nod32 (think thats what its called)
Norton Internet Security (years ago, not sure if it has improved)
KasperSky

I'd have to say that ZoneAlarm is the best for Firewall and AVG for Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware. Although Kaspersky are my second best!

it is easy to use, a very easy to use software firewall and at £3.50 it is an absolute bargain
