Does anybody know how long it takes for a bacs payment from ns&i to be processed? Sent off my withdrawal form today, and was just wondering if anybody had any experience of how long it takes to receive the money?

And before anyone says... I have googled it, but can't find an answer.

2 second google...

Taking money out
Ask for a withdrawal form at any Post Office® branch, return the completed form to us using the pre-addressed envelope and your money will be available within a few days.

I saw that, but I have known some companies when they say a few days, it's a couple of weeks. so was wondering if anybody had an idea of working days... as a few seems to be anything from 3 to 14.

About a week from posting it off it should be in your bank.

Funny (not) I tried to make a withdrawal 2 days ago using the online withdrawal, forgot my passwork and asked for a new one thinking they would email it! never so simple.
New temp passport arrived today and tried to input told me I was suspended, so I phoned them they told me I had attempted to put my passwork in after I pressed the forgotten PW link and as a result has now got to wait 3-5 days for another one then they told me the withdrawl can take upto 8 days. So I might be lucky to get MY money in 2 weeks. They wont do it over the phone even after I went through the security check. Never again I shall invest elsewhere!

Maybe you kept spelling it incorrectly, much like password! ;)

We have been trying to withdraw some of OUR money from Direct ISA accounts with NS&I for over a week now to pay a bill. However we are constantly told that our security details are incorrect!Has anyone else had as much trouble? We keep getting forms to fill in for new passwords, all by snailmail so the whole process goes on for ever!I realise they are hanging on to our money as long as possible but it is a very stressful experience when you are 86 years old!As soon as this is eventually sorted,we are going to transfer to another savins provider. My advice to others is DO NOT INVEST WITH NS&I DIRECT ISA>

I am on my 3rd attempt to withdraw my daughters money from her investment acc. She was 2 when opened and is now 11. She and a witness have signed the form and I have now been told that her signature doesnt match that on file!!! Well it wouldnt due to the fact she never signed it!! I rang NS&I to be spoken to like i was 2!! They cannot explain why this hasnt been processed and Jamie told me 'the Investment Account is not that good at the moment', wonderful!!!
I am now awaiting a Supervisor to call me back, no doubt to tell me to start all over again, we are now in our 4th week......

It's funny because normally when your security details are wrong it's because you've gotten them wrong at some point, these automated very very rarely make mistakes like that, I've never had an issue with NS&I and to the people saying don't invest with them I say, they're great to invest with and very helpful, when you're clever enough to remember your own log in details. I am having the same problem with NS&I, originally was going to withdraw a few hundred pounds as I was short for a deposit for a property purchase, didn't realise I would be 2 weeks later and still no close to seeing my money, now withdrawing all my money that I have put with NS&I over 20 years as the customer service was shocking, it was a technical error on their part that they admitted as they had computer problems which meant I got locked out of my account, they told me it was an ongoing problem but all they could do was send me a new password in the post, this took 5 days to reach me and now I wait for who knows how long, I feel ripped off, luckily I was able to borrow money from my friends and my property has completed, much faster than NS&I can return money, it is s disgrace, in future I will be using a bank for my money as much as I distrust banks at least you can access your money when necessary, NS&I will never see another penny from me and I would not recommend anyone use them.
