hi guys I would like to upgrade my Amazon firestick. I can't decide which one to go for. Nvidia shield android tv looks so powerful buy double the price of Amazon fire tv. also they are out of stock everywhere. can get from eBay but they are asking silly prices for it.

I would like to run kodi on them main reason for me to upgrade firestick is freezing so much when I open kodi.

please give me your opinions.

I've got both.both great devices.shield is amazing but don't think it warrants double the price.kodi runs great on both .I see no difference personally between performance with kodi

Reset your fire tv stick back to factory.
reinstall kodi see how it runs.

Could be the difference of saving £50 or not.

also to add my fire stick tv is only sluggish when I've first turn it on. After the boot up and a minute or two after its normal.

But am tempted to reformat mine and just use it as a kodi stick. I do have retro emulators on it which don't get used. That's when the slow down began after side loading a few bits more than I needed.

My fire stick is slow if I don't exit apps properly, I tend to press the home button as I am lazy but have recently been pressing the back button to exit and performance has improved. Also I would recommend clearing the cache for each app

Looks like there may be a new model on the horizon, which may explain Nvidia being out of stock of the present one.

So may be worth waiting if you don't need one now and even possibly pick up a cheap current model once the new one hits retail.
