guys we have bought my mum a laptop for her birthday 2morow she has hardly used a computer and will only surf the net and try to learn windows lol. i dont want to sign her up to any contracts just yet incase she cannot master technology, so was wondering what is the best and cheapest option for me, i have spoken to orange and they cannot help as she is not BT landline, i was hoping to get something sorted for 2morow so it was all ready for her - any help is appreciated.

Hi,
If you have Sky Tv (basic package inc) already and have your calls directed through them (this is free anyway) you get free eve and weekend calls, you get the basic broadband FREE. Is more than enough to browse with etc. Only the cheapest though if you have sky already. Hope this helps?! :)

thank you very much but she doesnt have it believe it or not but she just has normal tv (reducing costs bless her)

Hi,
I have heard you can still get 'dial up' , when i last used it it cost me 1p a min, which wouldnt be bad if it wasnt used much, but not sure how slow it is now? Have a look on Tiscalli, or just put 'dial up' in the search engine, most numbers for dial up are 0845, but make sure it specifies the amount per min.
