Thanks

they are brokers (like Tesco) so it depends on who the policy is with

I have recently switched my house insurance from one call.
Why?
Because when it came to my car insurance, when I could no longer drive due to recent health issues they would not refund me a single penny even though I had been with them many years. I realised I could not expect the full 6 months premium still remaining, and even when I said I would take my house insurance business elsewhere they still did not seem to care - and that is with no claims at all on either insurance.
Their loss.

ah i hadn't noticed that, insurer is Ageas

OK so now you need to compare it with Tesco for value for example as above said they couldn't get part refund which am sure is illegal?

Online reviews sites don't help much, tesco get 1.5/5 , ageas get 1.4/5
I'm thinking a large well known company like Tesco should be better to deal with in the event of a claim, but then my mum recently had a similar issue as tardy with another large insurance company, so it's certainly not guaranteed.

All these cut price deals are from similarly cheap insurers who only feel obliged to discharge their legal requirements and work on low margins
I have always found Churchill, direct line Axa etc to be much better at customer service so will pay a bit more
I once went with Asda and it was all by internet .Not even a tel line to speak with someone to help clarify things - never again!

Was with them last year no problems but this year were £300 more expensive than my new insurers and had an hell of a time getting my no claims certificate from them
