All in One Desktop PC

Ok my current PC is nearly in way out, so we're looking at new one. We don't want laptop as too small (and have spare one anyway).

Only needed for Internet surfing, you tube, working on Office type rods - no heavy gaming needed.

Also not overly keen with the touchscreen PC's as imagine lots on finger prints!!

So, I've seen this Lenovo on Ideal World

http://www.idealworld.tv/Lenovo_C205_Black_All_In_One_PC_With_18.5_inch_Screen_Windows_7_Home_Premium,_AMD_Dual_Core_Processor,_2GB_RAM_and_500GB_Hard_Drive_188091.aspx?p=1

On flexi pay so quite convenient as well.

Any other decent deals for similar price please that you've come across?

Cheers

hi melmorc

another idea could be to get a really big monitor, maybe 24" or so, plus one of the cheap revo pc's and blot it to the back of the monitor.

that'd be a lot cheaper.

if no speakers on monitor buy a set of soundsticks and you'd have a very cool big screen system for approx same price

such as monitor for £125

pc for £180 ish (but often cheap offers so keep eyes open)

then soundsticks for £99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003ZXDOMA/ref=asc_df_B003ZXDOMA2934829?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&tag=****&linkCode=asn&creative=22206&creativeASIN=B003ZXDOMA

so approx £400 (or less if you can find a cheaper pc)

Thanks scrumpypaul (love your name!!!) Thats also something for me to consider as my 19 inch widescreen monitor is working fine. I just liked the look of the lenovo one (would have the iMac if could afford it!) - I am a girlie after all!!!!!

Also I assume I could stick windows 7 on the revo??

I think thie Lenovo is a fairly low spec machine so is not great value.

The CPU is not that powerful and the screen is only 1366x768 which is similar to many laptops and the hard disk only spins at 5400rpm (most desktops spin at over 7,000rpm).

My guess this old stock being sold off.

btw A search on the web indicates it IS a touch screen (most all-in-ones are touch screen)

There's this deal posted here on HUKD, with the potential of cashback from TopCashBack or Quidco - it's basic enough to do what you need IMHO but I suppose it boils down to your budget & also how powerful you want it.

At least this one would be easy enough to upgrade the RAM and hard disk in it.

Compaq Presario All-in-One SG2-210UK Desktop PC 20" 1600x900 (Intel Atom D410, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows 7) only £229.00 Delivered @ HP Store

No probs - glad to be of some help to you :D

With regards to the RAM, according to Crucial UK (link below) this desktop can take a maximum of 4GB worth of RAM (2 x 2GB DDR2 DIMMs) - they would need to be the 200-pin SODIMM, which can be purchased as DDR2 PC2-5300 or DDR2 PC2-6400 according to their website.

If your existing memory is compatible you should be quids up for installing it into this computer.

Actually no I'm afraid :( according to Crucial UK your Gateway system uses 240-pin DIMMs instead of the 200-pin ones used by the Compaq computer, so you would need to purchase more memory; 1GB is enough but that's if you switch off all of the bells and whistles within Windows 7 - ideally you'd need at least another 1GB DIMM.
