I am planning to get myself a oneplus 3T 128 gb soon but undecided on where to get it from. O2 or directly from oneplus website.

Does anyone know if buying from O2 on refresh deal and then cancelling the airtime would affect the credit ratings? I know it is almost the same price on O2 refresh and One plus but i am more inclined on getting it from O2 since then I can pop into their stores in case I have issues with my phone rather than haggle with the oneplus customer service and ship the phone back all the way to china.

Has anyone had any issues with the phone where they had to ship it back to one plus? how was the response like? worth the effort?

Any advice on pros and cons of buying from both would be welcome :)

Thanks.

After a bit of wrangling I ended up getting this phone (upgrade from my old Sony Z2). My contract was up in March and I didn't want to get tied into a 2 year one. I wanted something with a little 'poke' and relatively future proof. I had looked at the Google Pixel, but at £800 for the XL it was WAAAAYY out of my price range. I had looked at the Chinese market but was put off with the thought of duty and warranty. Plus the phone I wanted wasn't in stock (which helped!)

A bit of researched lead me to this phone, which had just been released Nov 2016. I wasn't bother for the 64gb, for a few quid more I might has well get the 128gb (as it doesn't have a SD card). I checked the phone's main supplier but none in stock from their website (ridiculous really), after a bit more research I found that O2 sold them AND they were unlocked/opened for any network! I checked O2's site and my local store, yep they had stock and bought one.

I spoke to the lad in the O2 store to make sure, and he said it was part of the "exclusive deal" to sell the phone was that they had to be open to any network. Go figure!

I've been using it a week now and I am very impressed. Battery is exceptional, as is the way it charges (full charge from 30% in less than an hour? Wow...!) And it's just had an upgrade to nougat.

I use Nova Launcher so I can't comment on what their launcher/front end is like/as to offer. What I can say is that it is incredibly responsive.

The only (partial) downside I would say, is the camera. But bare in mind I'm comparing this to my old Z2 which I think has a camera not many phone can touch (even by today's standards) so my view might be I'm slightly slanted.

Well actually did evaluate that option too.. since I am looking at getting the 128 gb version and hence 456 quid is slightly on the higher side for me.. was hoping if i could save a little on the refresh deal so that accessories like covers and screen guard get sorted :)

Thanks for your elaborate reply.. personally i agree that it is beast of a phone and not many phones currently available match upto it on an overall performance level ....

Battery life is the best I have ever had! I also had a g4 (great phone btw) s7 and now this, and this beats them all in alot of areas but by miles in battery! By the time I finished work most days I would be down to about 30-40% at best dont think I have even came close to dropping to 50% on my 3t so battery will most likely never be a problem for most with this phone and like you will hear alot of people say the dash charge is super quick! The fastest out there at the moment as far as I know the only thing I'm not super happy with is camera! Don't get me wrong it is still very very good but coming from the s7 and that instant focus to the 3t which can take a little time to focus is a bummer. You won't get a better value phone. Though I am looking forward to the g6 coming out lol

Interesting, I was in an o2 store Saturday and was told the phone was locked to o2 I would have to have it for 12 months before I could get it unlocked.
