You need PlayStation Plus subscription. This allows you to play online games, backup game saves online. You also get selected free games each month as long as you have active PlayStation Plus subscription.

Yep, in order to play online with other people you'll need a PlayStation Plus membership. You my find one in a bundle when you get your ps4 or can buy one online.

You'll also get a free 14 day trial first time you make an account.

it's only my opinion but £35 for a year is excellent value if you play online a lot. to be honest I'm surprised it isn't more like £50.

How do you get it to £31? The PS Plus is £34.89 on cdkeys and with the 5% discount it makes it £33.15.

very annoying that they charge for this, ps3 is free so no idea why this isn't , even uses the same account. :/

**** isn't it? It was free and fine and then Microsoft came along and charged for Xboxlive?? and Sony followed suit

I had no idea it might be going up. It's already a bump as it is as I've genuinely not downloaded a single ps plus game all year and go online once a week if that.

Ps not against indie titles but there's enough AAA titles released in a year to keep but the most ardent gamer going
