Upon starting Bioshock Infinite when it goes to full screen my monitor stays black and displays the 'No Signal' warning in the blue box then goes onto stand by. The music and sound plays during all this.

As soon as I minimise everything goes back to being fine on the desktop.

I had the same problem with 'The Wolf Among Us' recently. I hit alt+enter to go to windowed mode and adjust the display settings which worked, however I cannot get it to window mode for Bioshock Infinite.

No problems in any other game I tried (Bioshock 2, TF2, Dear Esther, Amnesia).

Try holding ALT and then tapping ENTER once while the game is running, to see if it works in windowed mode.

If it does display the game fine like that go into the display settings of the game and adjust the screen option to windowed fullscreen (or similar).

It sounds like the game may be trying to run in a resolution that your monitor doesn't support. Try the suggestion described here about editing your options file: http://steamcommunity.com/app/8870/discussions/0/828937979229979741/

Note that the post there assumes a 1080p monitor; if your monitor's max resolution is below that, you'll need to use different values as appropriate for your monitor.

SOLVED!

Thank you. Knew it was that it was opening in the wrong resolution but didn't know where I would find the .ini's and which one to use. Awesome, thanks!

No problem at all, just happy to be able to help. :)

Hi illusionary, wonder if you can help.

It is occurring on Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs now.

It seems to that any game either that isn't 1920x1080 or a default 16x9 resolution is doing the same. I cannot find a solution.

I'm afraid that I'm not aware of a generic solution that would apply across all games - possibly there's a limitation of your monitor that's causing issues here? You could test out the behaviour if you try selecting one of the problematic resolutions in your Windows display settings (if it doesn't work, just wait a few seconds and it will switch back automatically) - or you may find that these just can't be selected, which would collaborate this.

Hi. I selected 1024x768 and it shows fine. Look horrible obviously but works fine. Tried with fair few other resolutions and they all worked still.
