I have been with Orange broadband with livebox for 3 years, customer services is shocking and speeds are a bit hit and miss but for the price I'm happy.

i had orange free with my phone contract and was happy with speed, although service was bad. then in 2010 my speed kept getting slower and slower till i was into 10-12kb/s speeds. so i switched to sky and am up to 1200kb/s speed. I wouldnt get tied in if I were you.

I've been with Orange since 1997, although it has changed from Freeserve to Wannadoo and now to Orange. In total I have had only one problem, which was a BT fault and I was without an internet connection for 3 days. My experience of customer service has been excellent and they respond well to be a bit of bartering come end of contract; for the last 3 years I have been paying £9.99 a month with 6 months free on a 12 month contract.

Same as previous reply started with freeserve but I can,t wait until my contract expires as have far more trouble than my daughters who have sky and plus net. Yes they do tempt you with cheap deals near the end but in my opinion its not worth the hassle of ringing customer services and being on hold etc.

Thanks for the comments. I was tempted to join orange due to the free xbox and 3 months free bb. Considering the price of xbox (£120) and 3 months bb, the net price of bb+phone is only £ 11.1 per month which is cheaper than the phone rental charges. However I am worried about the orange bb service based on the various comments.:(

Depends on what you use the internet for, if you download heaps of stuff then I would prob say avoid but for general surfing and watching the odd movie etc then there is nothing wrong with it.

bad experience with Orange (had it for 2 years), when it went wrong it took me 2 weeks of nearly daily phoning to sort it out, and when you phone it's a nightmare

OK with O2 (for about 2 years now), I had a problem only once, it apparently was a regional problem which they solved in 2 days and then apologised with a free month.

Hi happydeals,

We joined Orange last July when we moved into a new area. We are so far from the exchanges all we could get was 2MB from any company. We decided on Orange because of the price and have not had any problems at all; however saying that we have never needed to call them.

I think all companies tend to be as good/bad as one another. Talk Talk is supposed to be really bad but I have heard good things from friends who use them. It’s only ever the bad comments/reviews that get posted, people that are just happy don’t comment lol :)

Thanks for the feedback. You are right, only bad reviews normally get highlighted. Though generally I heard good reviews about O2.
However it would be a bit of gamble for 18 months contract with Orange!
