Ordering two pairs of shoes then returning one pair?

RE: Ordering two pairs of shoes then returning one pair?

JD Sports does free delivery instore. Usually a Shoe Size 8.5, but the shoes I want are only in Size 8 or Size 9. Is it okay to order both size shoes delivered instore, then to collect and wear them to check size instore, then return instore the pair that fits least for a full refund?

It feels really wrong to do this, I feel it's abusing the system or something, but is this an okay thing to do?

I've read the returns policy and there isn't anything particular to say no to this, aside from "The Goods must be returned unused with the original packaging.".

I can't see a problem with doing this, I've done it before when ordering clothes from online, if I'm not sure which size is going to be best then I will order two and just return the one that's not right.

Try asking Instore as it feels you are allowed to do this.

Its like buying two shirts and returning one as it doesn't fit.

Aren't sports direst funny with returns? I.e., give a credit note instead of a refund? (I know they don't *have* to do either.. But still)

OP is buying from JD, not sports direct. Distance selling reg's come into play when buying online so you would be entitled to a full refund (unless specifically stated otherwise in the T&C's).

Usually fine. In fact most clothing companies have some variant of "doesn't fit" as a reason for the return on their return form.

Why don't you find same brand similar style and try them on before ordering?! No need to return any then.

Also reading reviews may help many people comment on the fit and if they had to go up or down a size.

I have done this several times. It's usually fine!!!

You do realise that shoe shops are in general trying to sell you shoes, so what part of ordering two shoes and then returning one do you think they would be unhappy about? Unless they are one of these new shops where they don't like to sell anything.

You might have to pay the return postage, as this can be excluded from the DSR

Not if returning the pair instore as they stated. Although some items do sometimes say can not be returned instore.

It'll be fine. Just make sure if you pay by PayPal that you can return the shoes in store as some shops need you to send them back to the warehouse for a PayPal refund. (New look)
