Hi, Im taking my girlfriend to Paris from 20th Feb to 23rd Feb to see Kings of Leon and stay for the weekend (birthday and late valentines present all rolled into one :) ) It looks like Eurostar will be cheaper for us than flying... (48£ each return...)

So, Hotels... all the Hilton deals have disappeared in Paris, im looking for a hotel for the weekend that wont break the bank, preferably utilising hotels.com 10% cashback or hotelopia's 10% CB and 5% voucher... however having never been there I have no idea on good hotels there, I dont really mind the location as long as its not too far from the centre (max 4km away) can anyone recommend any that are good quality but maybe discounted? happy to spend 50-80 a night... (3 nights)

Lordy its tough being a moneysaver and a romantic... any helpful advice will be rewarded in Rep!!! (and no I dont class "listen to a better band" as helpful :) )

Hi there
I know my suggestion is a bit scary but it is what I did early Jan and worked a Treat, go there without any booking and go to the tourist information on the day, they will be able to find a discount room for you we ended up staying in a 150euro room for about 56 and it was v close to the centre. One thing i may point out though, over Christmas (and i assume now) the main tourist information is closed by the Arch de Triumph don't spend a hour looking for it when it has moved for winter like i did :(
the best one we found was by the pyramids metro station

i know it is a daunting thought but it was well worth it and all the tourist info people speak perfect English aussi Francias so it was easy as pie

hope this was of help

I stayed at Absolut Hotel / Hostel in Paris in August and it was great and very cheap.

Booked a double room with Ensuite and it was fine. Good loctation too.

I booked through www.hostelworld.com

Thanks for taking the time to post guys, still none the wiser unfortunately. no hotels in Paris on medhotels.com, I dont think im going to risk going to Paris with no hotel and have to wander around with a suitcase aimlessly, and the Absolut Hostel will cost the top end of my budget for a twin room... Ive seen some nice 3/4* hotels for that price. any further help would be appreciated!

Just got back from Hotel Eiffel Seine..... we spent about 20 days searching EVERY hotel in Paris and this was by far one of the best rated..... check for yourself:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187147-d572984-Reviews-Eiffel_Seine_Hotel_Paris-Paris_Ile_de_France.html

4.5 out of 5 starts and usually £288 per night.

Go through their website and select the three nights deal and the price goes to 98 euro a night. (MEGA SAVING)

PACKAGE 3 NIGHTS
Take advantage of this Special offer for a minimum stay of 3 nights. Book now !
Standard From 95.00 to 180.00 EUR

The Eiffel Tower is within spitting distance of this place......and the metro is accross the road, will take you to Champs Elysee and Arc de Triumphe in three stops etc.

give late rooms a chance
http://www.laterooms.com/en/p1301/pv2055838/k12835253_paris-hotels.aspx?gclid=CIqBzKOIgJgCFQ4i3god4lDoDQ

will be worth ringing them though so late rooms don't get their cut :)

also has that map thing on it so you can see what district of Paris you are in

you can easily get a 50euro room on there

hope it does you well :)

try laterooms.com, hotels.com, venere.com and expedia.com.

I booked in Marriott Paris for £65 while the normal rate was £165 a night through priceline but booking room through priceline is a bit tricky .Anyway, if you are interested http://biddingfortravel.yuku.com/ has got all the tips and tricks to find a bargain through priceline.

These hotel search engine charge extortionate commission from the hotels(Expedia charges 30% for example ), so the key is to spot a good hotel and ring the hotel directly, asking them to give you a rate better than offered through expedia etc. This work wonders most of the times, I have been in hotel reservations for a while and tried it myself many a time.:whistling:
