Me and the missus went a few years ago and went through Railbookers (Link to the paris part: http://www.railbookers.com/breaks/france/paris).

We stayed in the 3* Mercure Terminus Nord. Which is a nice little hotel opposite guard de nord and also has a metro station just outside too.

I phoned to book with Railbookers and told them the times and dates and the guy i spoke to informed me that if i went and hour earlier and came back 2 hours later it would be cheaper for me to travel first class on the eurostar, which we did, had a three course meal, champagne and loads a wine :)
Also though the site you can book your metro passes for as long as you need them as well as a tickets that let you in to all the museums etc which we did. They then send it all to your house so its all in one package, very handy :)

My brother also went to paris with them and had no problems at all.

Ive been looking for about 3 months for some good deals for my trip next month, the best deals you will find for 'good' hotels i.e. 4 star good names are in places like La Defense which is the business district and in the southwest of Paris, however, this is right on the edge of the metro system, but still only around 3 miles from central paris. Sign up to a cashback site and you'll get up to 10% for certain sites such as expedia or hotels.com, and keep your eye out for any vouchers ( i think there was a 10% off expedia one posted on here) Ive found most of the hotels to be ridiculously expensive, but there are a few good deals to be had depending on your length of stay, and especially if you use the codes on here and cashback.

Have a look at Timhotel, a range of budget hotels in the Paris area. I stayed at the one on Pigalle, that one is good for spicy night life.

where are you landing, Beauvais, Orly, or CDG airport? and is that 8pm or 8am? i presume the former... I was looking for similar info for myself then just decided it was easier to get the eurostar right to the centre of Paris...
