Hi
So I bought a tablet for my son for Christmas at the beginning of December, I paid £149.99 for it then, no they have it on offer at £99.99.
Has anyone had experience of getting the difference refunded?
I've reserved the 99.99 one for collection tomorrow as i originally thought of taking the full price one back and getting the lower price one. Has anyone any experience on this?

depends where its from and their return policy, if its Argos, simply buy the new one, take it back with the old receipt.

What retailer?

return it and buy again

if its in unused conition then send back and buy £99 one, if not new condish then contact company on live chat, state your disappointment at paying fifty pounds over current offer ( be polite) and just be upfront and ask if there is a way to get refunded the difference, all they can say is no. and if they do, tgen move on or call company, its harder to knock back a real human being on the phone than it is to knock back someone on chat. and make sure and wish a merry crimbo regardless of result, have done this before land received a callback giving what i wanted. people are human at the end of the day and if you treat them as such you generally get treated the same way back. good luck with your endeavours mate hope you get a result.....oh...and....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! :D ! :D

Or simply buy it again and return it straight away with old receipt.

I'd be worried about buying the new one and getting a sales assistant that refuses the return and being stuck with two. If it was bought in store you have no rights to a refund unlike if you'd bought online (tho argos are usually pretty good and also returns are usually extended thru to January this time of year) so I personally would try and get the refund before buying the duplicate if that's possible.

Argos

You could always barter if they're awkward and say you're happy to have the Instore credit. Might sway a difficult assistant.

just take it back, you have 30 days, normally unless they told you you didn't. :)

Ask to speak to a store manager at the place you bought originally. Some can do a refund /sale to give you a price match at their discretion. Happy christmas! :{

Argos have more than one store though

Argos accepts returns within 30 days providing the item remains in the same condition. It says on the back of the receipt too, I have one in front of me.

My receipt also says "Extended Christmas returns. Any purchases made from the 12th October 2016 can be returned up until the 24th January 2017". It is written at the bottom.

Just buyer another and return the original, no need to worry.

I recently bought a tv from argos which was discounted the next day and got a refund of the difference! Sometimes easier than buying and returning and re-buying etc!

Buy the new one and return it with the old receipt, when they ask for a reason just state you bought it for a present and you're just found out they already had one. Not the honest thing to do but £50 is £50 and I do not think they are selling the £99 one at a loss.

I bought something from Argos about a month or two ago, 2 weeks later it was cheaper. Took it back for a full refund, they just looked and seen it hadn't been opened... Then I bought it again at the new price

just to let you all know I went back to argos, for quickness the girl refunded me the one I took back and I got a new one from stock. but I also message them on Facebook and was advised there is a 30 day price matching guarantee

Return first. Get money back then get cheaper one.
