Do you have proof of delivery?
Proof of postage means practically nothing
#2
You only have to claim from royal mail. unfortunately you don't have proof of delivery
#3
What should I do?

Avoid eBay as it has been full of scammers for the past 5+ years

well see feedback n buy from ppl who are reliable

The buyer always win's
#6
typical scam.. you'll only win if you have proof of delivery
#7
Yeah I closed my ebay account for that very reason. Scammers always on ebay and they always win disputes
#8
Second that buyer always wins
#9
Doesn't Royal Mail insure all postage to the value of £12 regardless of postage type? I thought that proud of postage was enough to claim against?

You'll likely lose any PayPal claim but you might still be able to put in a claim against Royal Mail but if it were me I'd write it off as experience I'm afraid.
#10
Give them all the information you have and hope for the best.

Next time use postage that requires a person to sign for
#11
Most likely stupid delivery man posted game through letter box without getting signature or proof of delivery so buyer thought this is a easy win situation so basically you need to refund the scammer and claim of Royal Mail who will waste your life with claim forms and give you a headache when it comes to paying out. Good luck!

for whatever reason
Which is?
they are claiming they havent received it, and also have not contacted me after I asked them to if they hadn't. Now been over a month and has made two claims in the space of 3 minutes and escalated the dispute.
#14
Update just spoke to someone at paypal and due to the circumstances and as its the first time, he has also refunded me too so I haven't lost anything. Also advised me for future reference use tracked delivery.

I'm in a chargeback situation too...worst mine is of a digital code.....someone got is account hacked and cc details stolen and bought the code i was selling with someone else ebay account. The real owner of that account is now chargebacking the money and the situation is in police hands. Ebay sent me a ton of messages saying that person details were hacked, the listing was removed, my sell fees returned, the hacked account removed too... But the problem is...i have no code, and facing a chargeback now...

I would complain to paypal about the person making a claim after so long which is could be seen as dodgy and also that you have proof of sending item.

That is exactly what I did also complained about the time between each claim, and that saved me. Just really annoying that the person has his money back and the game.

There's no problem using eBay, I use it to sell quite alot. The only problem is that people have to remember to use a tracked delivery service, this is the only way you can protect yourself as a seller. I use myHermes (the flat rate shipping of £2.75) which covers you for loss/damage at £25, is a trackable service and sends email updates to the buyers at every step. You also have to remember to use the address on your paypal account and not the eBay account. If you do all that, you'll be fine!

You should get paid back by PayPal.

I had a crazy situation where buyer mother did a charge back as they used mothers account... They apologised and sent me a payment from their own account so I had got my money back... A good while later paypal made a decision to pay me from there side! But I couldn't just take the money and so I phoned them and explained everything... They literally told me that the case was closed and that I should keep the money as there was nothing else that could be done! So I got twice the money! Woohoo!

Keep all messages and send them to paypal.

You are either stupid, very drunk or one of those 31 year old children that came into the UK from Calais this week.
The Op hasn't bought anything, he has sold something and most probably been scammed.
Most people now on eBay seem to say the item hasn't arrived, the days of honesty and ebay have long gone...

Send him a polite email asking what the problem may be. Tell him if he has problems with Paypay you are up that way with a group of your sychotic friends and could pop in for the cash.

Tks man. I provided every proof i could to paypal that my code was good and it was redeemed after i sent it. Showing mails and stuff. Then i showed all emails i traded with the real person that got hacked. The person didnt have a clue about what a "chargeback" is and what a fifa 17 code is lol... It just keeps saying that the case is in police hands and she as nothing to do with it...well she as but keeps saying dont. I hope paypal understand that this person losing their info online to a third person and that third person buying from me, as nothing to with me. I'm the only doing the things right. Thanks a lot man for your info :)

Yeah I closed my ebay account for that very reason. Scammers always on ebay and they always win disputes

Yet, a deal posted here for eBay's £1 charges for sellers went really hot.

Hi. I had the same problem. Wouldn't it be weird if the same person. Sold an expensive hood. Waited 4 weeks for his payment to eventually come through. Didn't relish out the goodness of my heart. 6 weeks later he opened a case saying it hadn't been received. I knew they were at it but as usual eBay sided with them. Luckily I got receipt and got refunded by royal mail. You just know when folk are at it

I had the same situation recently. Had my proof of postage receipt and raised a claim against Royal Mail and they paid out. I refunded the payment.

Yeah I agree, calling and actually speaking to someone seems to get a quicker and more reasonable response from paypal
#35
PayPal are much more reasonable than ebay.

Probably since they split the 2 companies a few years ago. PayPal will normally side with their account holder instead of eBay.

BUT, ebay can either stop your account completely, or prevent use until you pay any debt from them refunding the lowlife buyer

So true, sell nothing that's not tracked postage, sad times

Don't sell in eBay, the buyer (usually scammer) always wins, you'll have to claim off Royal Mail
