Hi,
please could someone point me in the right direction to a pc to tv conenction, so I can watch whatever is showing on the monitor to be on the tv instead this'll include dvds, football streaming etc or even web based games,
I've searched a few websites (£50 for a wireless, or fleebay for £8 ish for wired connections) does anybody have anything they have set up and can recommend.

tv is a hannspree jt01-e2 with hdmi (one currently unused) and scarts etc.
I'm lookiing to spend up to £20 but may go over if one of you guys come up with wireless or hdmi connection, (in my dreams eh)

any ideas will be appreciated.

I have been looking at this option myself, as the kids are constantly fighting for a decent view on my laptop when they watch cartoons on youtube. However after a long discussion with a very friendly shop keeper at my local computer shop (he had no alterior motives as he doesn't sell the conclusion).

We discussed the standard VGA to S-Video or S-video to S-video connections, which we found to be rather poor quality, especially with youtube being poor quality in the first place. Then discussed using the laptop as a HDD recorder via Vista media center. All these methods ended in there being some drawback of sorts.

The conclusion, which is expensive, is to buy a playstation 3. You gain the benefits of a blueray dvd recorder, hard drive recorder, music and video streaming, and a crystal clear internet connection on your tv (oh and a decent games console). The 60gb drive also comes with a wifi connection so it can easily connect to your wireless network. It all depends on what you would like to achieve, as if you just want to use your tv as a monitor then it makes sense to just buy a PC/TV monitor. There are PC/TV connections on ebay from £5, but trust me they dont work very well.

Oh and if you are looking to use your PC as a HDD recorder the simple solution there is to get Sky plus. There are methods to get this installed free of charge, check the forum.

Surely all you need is D-SUB cable?

so basically a dsub cable with a splitter would do it, so simple, thank you, is there a difference in quality?

Isn't D-Sub for parallel cable connections. The printer port doesn't carry any video signal.

Does your tv have a VGA input if so this would be your answer.

well all i use is a s-video cadle from pc to tv and with 5.1 sound system on my pc it sounds great. But i guess thats only any good to you if you have a s-video cable from your pc and that your pc is near and in the same room as your tv

three weeks ago and it finally came on Friday, too late because I had bought another similar item for £20 more cos I was fed up of waiting..

I checked it and it works fine, but it never came with any instructions. They are online.
Anyway, £45.00 inc delivery by BACS if interested.
