Hi

I'm after a PS3 as a Xmas prezzie and really don't know where to start...

Can anyone out there let me know if there are different versions and which stores have the best deals.

Any info would be really welcome.

Cheers

60GBs the best obv. but theyre out of stock in 98% of places.

40GB is the same minus 2 usb ports + no backwards compat. + no ethernet cable but is wireless.

Best 40GB offers are probably game/gamestation.

get a 60gb if you can find one otherwise get a 40gb. and btw 40gb is going to be the only ps3 left so if you want one get it fast.

Sorry to ask but i am not very techie minded :whistling: but i am looking to buy my oh one for Christmas. Why apart from it has more space for saving and downloading etc is the reason for getting a 60gb if you can?

Thanks for any info

You get 4 USB 2 ports and only 2 USB 2 ports on the 40GB version.
The 60GB version also allows you to play PS2 games which you can not on the 40GB version.
I'm not sure but I think the WiFi might be missing on the 40GB version as well.

Best thing to do is get the 60GB version if you can (usually comes with a couple of games) sell the games and should bring the price down to current 40GB version.

Because it has some backward compatibility with PS2 games. The 40Gb one has none. But unless you have some PS2 games and want to play them on a PS3 it doesn't really matter. Other than that I think the 60Gb has a memory card reader and 4 USB ports rather than 2 on the 40Gb and no memory card reader.
