Amazing... serious breath taking potential...

If you have a pc the htc vive is better but if you only have a PS it's the next best

Considered it then decided not. Would prefer to wait until they bring out a wireless version some way down the line as the cables look a bit cumbersome and will take up a lot of space when not in use. It needs that killer game to make it a necessary purchase if you ask me. A lot of peeps have one that they admit is now gathering dust after the novelty has worn off.

Depends on you . A lot of people get very bad motion sickness and some are barely affected . Also most of the games are pretty much tech demos wich are verry impressive but lack any depth or proper game beyond mini games that personal i would find boring in about 5 mins but some would love

Short answer. No.

Tldr- there is no single game for it that is anywhere close to being a AAA "hardware" seller. There are a handful of good "experiences" - Batman, Res, Until Dawn, star wars vr, etc but these last all of maybe an hour or so. There isn't really anything on the horizon, in fact, Sony has already been accused by several big journos of "abandoning" it.

The unit itself is solid but not without faults - like all vr. In summary, vr itself is in its infancy and it shows; the lack of eye tracking to stabilise the image whilst your head moves (which it does..... a lot.... though you don't realise it till you put a headset on) is a major cause of motion sickness. If you suffer from this don't get one - I don't and even I can't stand more than 10 minutes on something like dirt rally vr, it's a really weird sensation braking and feeling no force.... seriously. I think it would be fine with a full on racing cabinet that throws you aroudn; in fact, it would be awesome! But this is totally unrealistic for 99.9999% of people.

I am enjoying it. Battlezone is an excellent strategic shooter, how we soar is a cool chill out game & rez infinite is great to. Showed a mate the battlefront vr level and she was blown away. I wanted to try something new and so far it has been a lot of fun. Even the wife likes it (and she doesnt play games!)

Owned one for a month the novelty soon wore off after the first couple of uses and headaches

Thanks for the input :)

I got it for cheap but short answer is no.

Its definitely worth experiencing, but not for the £400(camera) asking price as the tech is still not there yet and software is really lacking. RE7 is the only proper title with other being glorified short techs demo. The same goes for Rift/Vive.

Also, probably the question most people wanted to ask but never did. VR porn suck balls and not for the right reasons. the screen is blurrys, the filming/viewing perspective/scale is wrong in every video, they just looks either huge or deformed

I believe it is comments like this which deter numerous people from VR. Rush of Blood lasts a lot longer than an hour but will agree Batman and Star Wars are short but enjoyable experiences; even though Batman is around 2-3 hours if you do everything properly and Star Wars VR was a free patch.

I can see from your response that you suffered a lot of motion sickness, probably prompting this sort of response and can only advise you to maybe try games that dont do this and build up some VR legs before trying out games like Dirt VR. And when you say its 'totally unrealistic for 99.9% of people' I can tell you this is incorrect and it's immersive/impressive for a hell of a lot of people oO

Also would like a source on your bit where you said Sony are accused of abandoning it

I Got my unit release day and play it frequently, especially driveclub VR with a G29 and Sportsbar

To people saying there's no games E3s around the corner and games like farpoint, ace combat, star trek etc are coming out soon and could be more game announcements.

Guess it just depends on how much money you're willing to spend... Also would recommend trying one somewhere incase you have any motion sickness which strangely has never effected me at all.

Rush of blood lasts longer than an hour - yes, about the same time as virtua cop or similar light gin game which it is. It's still an experience only and not a fully fledged title.

I suffered no motion sickness on any game at all other than driveclub. Like a lot of people.

You misconstrued my remarks about dirt rally. I never said it was unrealistic. I said to mitigate motion sickness and up the experience factor buying a racing cabinet - one that operates on hydrolicsale- is out of the question for 99% of people.

Source for Sony abandoing vr is Google. Here's an example but there's similar reports all over the Web https://www.google.co.uk/search?client=ms-android-samsung&q=sony+accused+of+abandoning+vr&spell=1&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjxsuSlh5rTAhViVWMKHaCxC70QvwUIFigA&biw=360&bih=616#xxri=0

There are new games but no system sellers yet; and naming 3 recognise able titles followed by an "etc" is all too telling.

I spent 264 on mine during amazon warehouse clearance....... brand new.

Is it worth it.... no,

I clicked on your link and still cant find where the several big journalists have accused Sony... Just trying to point out how your post has major flaws/false information which deters people from VR from where you said 'Sony has already been accused by several big journos of abandoning VR"' and how Rush of blood is less than an hour.

Also around 96 upcoming games you can see Here I said etc because theres quite a few. Forgot Grand Turismo 8)

Not denying the majority of them aren't AAA but theres still a good selection out.

For Driveclub check the /psvr/ reddit, so many people use the Dualshock motion controls and say it's very immersive.

I dno, this combined with the 3d cinema player and cinema mode for movie games like the Telltale series has made this a very good purchase for me :)

Novelty wears off after an hour. Not worth the money. Too many cables. Ugly design.

So you originally told me the articles were saying Sony is abandoning PSVR but the Google search you just supplied is talking about how there is a lack of games which there isnt; there's a lack of AAA games which I agree :). It's people like you that are giving false information and spreading lies about VR and is very misleading for other people.

is the cinema option any good for blu rays and games? thanks
In Update 4.50 the PSVR firmware was updated so that the Cinema mode which displays blurays and games is very clear. For these reasons playing games on it is pretty cool, its like playing games on a huuuuge cinema tv. I recently bought Until Dawn (not the VR one) and started playing that on it and its pretty sweet and the trial of Minecraft story mode. If someone's on the tv and you want to play something like rocket league on your console its a very good replacement

I've got a big collection of 3D films and can say they look really good on the PSVR, especially Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars TFA :D Don't just rely on my experiences though If you want some more reviews google psvr 3d movie review you'll see loads of other people are loving it too

I sold mine within a few weeks because of a lack of games. I really hope lots of games are coming out for it though as it could be so good
