Portable Digital TV / DVB Aerial

Hi,

I bought a USB DVB receiver (digital TV receiver) recently from PCnextday, but it didn't come with a portable aerial.

Can anyone suggest either a good aerial to get (lightweight for travelling & good reception), or indeed a good aerial at a bargain price!

Thanks, Steve

Hi We8vale,

Not sure what connector is on the USB DVB receiver from PCnextday but Maplin (maplin.co.uk) might have an antenna that'd work, alternatively you might want to give CPC (cpc.co.uk) a try. They're a trade company but they sell to consumers also as far as i'm aware. Failing that someone like Rapid Electronics might be able to help (rapidelectronics.co.uk). Bear in mind that these companies do charge carriage on small orders though (that is unless you're nearby a Maplin store). Failing that are you able to return the item under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000 for refund or replacement with something like a Freecom USB DVB receiver (which should come with a remote and an antenna)?.

Best Regards.

Thanks itxweather, I'll check out the websites. I'll post the connection type on my box when I get a moment.

Hi web8vale,

With regards to reception on the move, any aerial available at the moment will rely on the digital signal in and around the area you live in. The only good thing if reception aint so good, is that it will get stronger as time goes by.

We have sourced one some arials from a German Manufacture primarily for the car - I dont know if they would help with your problem. We are just waiting for them to land having bench tested them - they appear to work very well and two of the are amplified.

The supplier for these is www.automotivestyling.co.uk
They deal primarily with the trade.

Good luck
