Hi All

The OH wants a printer for the home study, will be used only now and again for random documents and whatever the kids requires. I'm thinking all in one printer, although not sure about what will work or best long term. Looking to spend 100-150max (whatever is cheapest!)

questions are:

- any recommendations? From those with similar setup?
- wifi printers worth it? Would be handy
- laser or ink jet?

Colour is a bonus.

Thanks!

If its only for occasional use do not buy a printer that uses ink, ignoring the fact that the per page cost is higher, ink carts that are not in regular use dry up.

We use a Samsung laser printer for day to day stuff going through a toner every 18 or so months and we also have a colour inkjet which is rarely used but requires new carts every 4th or 5th time it is used.

Unless you need multifunction capabilities, Wi-Fi or if graphics/photos are planned to be printed, shop around for something cheap. It's not hard to find laser printers with decent sized starter toners that are cheaper to buy and replace than buying a new toner.

(We have a Cannon MX475 bought from Argos for £39.99 & Samsung 2825ND which cost £89.99)

Ricoh 213w wi-fi mono laser printer, on Groupon for £31.99 delivered with a potential 25% off for new customers using code NEW25.

I bought two of these and they are great.
