private reg plates ?

hi there guys

im looking into buying a reg plate, i was wondering if all prices are the same? im wanting to save a little bit money that why i thought id ask you's :D

old prefix type, letter +2numbers +3 letters (example q12 nnn)

any help would be good, i did a quick search on quidco but couldnt find anything, does any one know of any cheep reg plates site or chash back ?

If it's available from the dvla then that will be the cheapest place. All the other number plate companies advertise a lot of plates they don't actually own - they act as a broker for the owner of the actual plate.

Search the dvla site for your chose prefix plate to see if they have it and cut out the middle man!

i did go on here first and found the plate i want but then did a google search and they offering the same plate for £50 cheeper, when you go to buy though they add VAT and £80 for something

The DVLA however dont charge you this £80,

newreg.com are good - i got my last one from them.

They are slightly dearer than the DVLA, but you just send them your MOT & tax etc, and they sort out switching the reg over for you.

Buy from the DVLA & you have to do all this yourself

Newreg wanted £660 for my £500 plate!!
My experience with the DVLA was painless. Bought the plate over the phone and got the certificate 2 days later. Took this with the V5 and tax disc to their local office and they changed it over there and then.

im going to buy tomorrow from the DVLA (shame they dont let you buy over the net !!)
