Sent my bootlooping LG G4 off to LG after Vodafone tried to charge me £144 to fix it. Its just came back with a new mainboard, but LG have locked it to Vodafone. Tried getting a code off eBay but got a reply saying that they cannot find the IMEI on the database. Same with Vodafone online and in the shop. Any ideas how I might be able to get the phone unlocked?

Might be worth mentioning that I have not put a vodafone sim in the phone since it has been returned, is this likely to make any difference?

Managed to unlock it on ebay by searching for worldwide/not found on database / factory unlock listings.

Possibly wait a while and the IMEI may appear on databases. Or contact LG to see what can be done.

ask lg to unlock it if the original was unlocked before why pay for unlocking if its there fault for locking it they should unlock it for free

Good luck getting anywhere with LG, once you have it back their customer service do not want to know. The only way around it is to report it still faulty and then they will talk to you, probably will not help you but at least you will get to speak to someone. They will argue it is back to the condition it was in when they sold it to Vodaphone and you need to deal with them.

This is what I am worried will happen.
As mentioned at the end of the post, is the fact that the phone hasn't had a vodafone sim in it possibly why the imei isnt registered?

i have the same issue for the past 2 months. LG keep sending me in circles, "Yes we can unlock that no problem." to "No we won't unlock it" when I complain or query they send me on another wild goose hunt. their customer service is appalling and as much as I like LG phones..I won't be buying another once I need to change phones. they are Muppets.

please can you help with unlock? as my phone does not allow me to unlock after dialling 2945#815# etc...
I just have a phone stuck on a network I don't use. sad times.
