Talk Talk upgraded me with an offer of a free HG633 superouter. The first catch was they had to charge me 50 pounds but then they could refund the credit to next months bill. Still once arriving and tuning at the exchange it has not completely been functioning correctly as it should via the guide leaflet provided. There are two frequencies 2.4ghz and 5.ghz that are are built into the router. The main direct connection is with the 2.4ghz network which is for everyday items such as laptops and phones etc. You log into router page and can change network name under Wireless Settings or Encryptions which will be the same for 2.4ghz and 5ghz field. The main problem I have encountered is that the 2.4ghz network name field is not saving any new data added to it. Once the router is switched off and on, the default network name returns to the 2.4ghz field on laptop BUT NOT COMPUTER. Because of this faulty incompetence I cannot personalise my online network security. I have spent more than around 10 hours speaking to Talk Talk about this issue but finding no use or resolve from their technical team. This situation has been the same from the day they configured the speed at their end and the exchange. The problem must be with the router or firmware added to help its day to day operations. Their must be lots of others experiencing this problem which TalkTalk are not helping to deal with. Please advise

On the router wizard wifi setup page: after you have (1) set and (2) saved the 2.4Ghz SSID (network name) and then (3) power-cycled the router, when you return to the router wizard wifi setup page, what is quoted name for the 2.4Ghz SSID?

I changed the network name and it holds fine. I just added 5gz to end of 5ghz signal though.. leaving talk talk in few weeks though lol

Nothing wrong with router then. The lappy is connecting to the 5Ghz network, and the computer is connecting to the modified name of the 2.4GHz network.

This router is rubbish. Over WiFi I get half the speed that goes into it. look on forums and lots of people complaining about it. You'd be better buying your own router instead.
