Problems With Tempered Glass Screen Protector

Hey people, I was wondering if any of you have any experience with tempered glass screen protectors on mobile phones. I have one on my Sony Xperia Z and although it doesnt impact normal usage, I do have a problem.

When I make a phone call the screen goes black, even when the phone isn't against my ear. This means I cannot hang up, nor can I push any number buttons during a call.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you covered the light sensor over ? if so remove it from over the sensor

No I haven't. The front camera is covered, but there is no hole for the front camera. There is a hole for the sensors though and these aren't covered. This is my second tempered glass protector both have had the same problem.

Found this on the sony forums, maybe worth a try

Open ur dial pad and type these: *#*#7378423#*#*
then go to: Calibrate>Proximity Sensor>Calibrate
*If the Calibration gives you an Error code, tap the Default setting button. it will reboot the device. after reboot, calibrate again and you're good to go.

Apparently a double click of the power button will bring the screen back, not a fix but a workaround if recalibrating doesn't work, the problem seems to be linked to the proximity sensor which is next to the camera being covered by the screen protector

Sadly there is no calibrate option when I do this.
