Can anyone recommend a protein powder for bulking up after losing weight for 40 year old . A basic everyday powder nothing like Arnold Schwarzenegger would use..

Have a look at maxi muscle : it's all fully compliant to Olympic standards so nasties inside. There were posts recently about maxi milk protein drinks for sale in B&M stores I think for £1 a pop. Or you can go port powder and mix yourself. :1)

Protein powder won't make you muscly, you can use any brand you want, don't worry.

A lot of sites sell gaining products, my husband likes to switch between Muscle Milk, myprotein and optimum nutrition brands. Cheap ones do the same job but the more expensive ones tend to taste better and have added nutrients and supplements. You can really tell the difference once you've tried both.

Bulk powders & myprotein are good to start with as their prices are quite low. They've both got Facebook pages you could ask current customers what their opinions are on the products, or you could call them, I've dealt with both and they are very professional and helpful.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein

Best stuff you can get, mixes well, leaves no mess, tastes great, not too expensive, 100% whey, clean so doesn't make you fat

Ok thanks for all the suggestions.

myprotein.com is your best and cheapest bet. The protein is brilliant and digest easily.

if you check out ebay from time to time you will get a great deal bundle:

Both are overpriced. You can get better/similar for less

Ditto on MyProtein, most people I know bang on about how good they are.

Protein shakes won't make you bulk up, all it will do is give you some calories, protein, low fat. If you want protein then go buy some cheap cans of tuna they will do more then a shake. Its not a merirical grow so the best thing to do is workout.

Protein is essential to bulking. Protein shakes are a quick, effective way of getting protein in your system. Tuna works too.
